:omg::wtf: That's just Not Cool(tm). Hope you're feeling ok and nothing too serious happened [edit] to you.. i know the car is damaged, and that's serious, but i was talking about your health. :sigh: me + talking == bad [/edit] brianwelsch wrote: Some jack-ass without a driver's license wtF?? wtf's he doing on the road then?? Did the cops do any alcohol/drug substance test on him? -- Must I be the meat in an imbecill sandwich?
Not that I saw. They didn't even arrest the guy for not having his license. That really pisses me off.

My advice: call one of those accident attorneys and sue. I know it's not very ethical, especially if you're feeling OK, but everybody does it. The money you receive will come from the insurance company and you can think of it as a nice compensation for your time and stress during and after the accident. You can also get free treatment from a chiropractor to help ease any real pain you still have. My ex-wife and I got into one several years ago and we sued. We got $5000, 33% of which went to the lawyer. Not too shabby. Regards, Alvaro

I thought about it, naturally, but I couldn't do it, especially now that I feel relatively fine.

You obviously need a faster car. Don't risk getting hit in the rear! Any super sports car > 100 000 USD will probably do the trick. :) (Or maybe he just didn't like Crighton?) Anyway, I hope it all works out. And if the paths that I have followed/have tread against the flow/there is no need for sorrow I am coming home Return, Crüxshadows

Owwww! :wtf: Are you alright? I see an ambulance in the one photo... What car was the other guy driving?! He really wrecked your car! :(
The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone he can blame it on. If you tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe, he'll believe you. But if you tell him a bench has just been painted, he'll have to touch it to be sure.

:sigh: I hope you feel no pain today. A lot of people aren't careful enough when it's raining, keeping the same speed and the same separation distance between cars. And when they need to do an emergency braking, bamh! Let's be positive, there's one less japanese car on the roads ;)

But you are going to have him pay for his idiocy right? I mean, you should be able to sue him. He was driving without a license when he hit you. Sounds like free beer to me! :) -- Must I be the meat in an imbecill sandwich?

His insurance company will be paying for damages. I probably could come up with some things to sue him over, but I don't see it happening right now.

brianwelsch wrote: I thought about it, naturally, but I couldn't do it, especially now that I feel relatively fine. It's good to hear that you're feeling OK. I used to be like you, "I'm feeling fine, I don't need to bother with lawyers or any of that." That was until that accident my exwife and I had, where I heard her complaining about pain in her lower back. Then I thought, she should go see a specialist (chiropractor) to make sure it's OK, and we should see a lawyer to make sure we don't incur any medical costs. But the system has degraded to the point where everyone just sues everyone. You can be almost certain that if you had been the one at fault, the other guy would be calling his lawyer and suing. It's that simple: you hit someone, they sue, so when someone hits you, you should do the same. If you don't, no one's gonna call you and thank you for being so honest and compassionate. And what's worse, you may actually have some real damage done to your body that you don't feel now, but may come back to bite you later in life. I don't mean to alarm you or anything, and honestly I hope your pain was temporary. Hopefully after your car gets repaired you can get on with your life. However, if your pain doesn't go away completely in a few days, I recommend you consult with a lawyer to see what options are available to you. Regards, Alvaro

My car was stopped in a line waiting to get off on my exit for work. I was listening to Michael Crighton's Timeline on CD, trying to hold on to the last strands of my weekend.:) Well, I never made into to work this morning. Some jack-ass without a driver's license decided my car looked too nice with the rain drops pearling off my shiney white freshly waxed Civic. Something about the rain causes people to lose all sense when it comes to driving. The guy had plenty of room to skid about to the right of me, even had some grass on the shoulder to roll about on if need be. However, for reasons unknown to me, he thought veering directly into my bumper was the best course. Now, I'm not sure if my car will be totalled, fixed, if I need to look for a new one, whatever. Also, my neck is starting to get a touch sore from the jolt, but luckily my Doctor gave me a few scripts to dull the swelling and inevitable pain tomorrow. Ackkkk! maybe tomorrow will be better.:sigh: Pic1[^] Pic2[^] Damnit!! The Pittsburgh Steelers better kick-ass tonight!

Wouchies!! Like everyone else, my sympathies. And rest assured, my Honda freakof a friend mourns your loss. Had a similar experience about 3.5 years ago. Was living in Florida for a few years, luckily most people know how to drive in rain there, actually I learned how while there. Was headed west thru downtown Gainesville about 9PM and came to an intersection where the light turned green about 5 sec before. My buddy in the passenger side made some kind of exclamation and I saw headlights streaking from the north. I smashed my little Prizm into an Explorer headed south at about 60mph. The collision flipped my in a 180 and I stayed in the intersection. The crazy driver did a 270 and ended up facing west on the sidewalk, all the tires were sucked into/off of the wheels, depending on the side. Good thing I wasn't going 5mph faster or he would've hit me and my buddy would've had the impact. Also, if I was going 5mph slower I would have missed him but he would've ran over a motorcycle going the other way. Surprisingly enough the worst injury I had was the airbag getting my legs nice and toasty before I could get out. Like your case, I'm not sure the driver was licensed and he was borrowing his friend's Explorer. That got the cops all excited. That and his explanation that the light had "just turned green and I was trying to catch it." Speed limit of 35 and he guns it to 60 to catch a light, go figure. I've decided there are three types of drivers: good ones, bad ones, and dangerous ones. Good drivers are, well, good. The bad ones don't check their blind spots, never use turn signals, freak out when driving in inclement weather, you know, all that annoying stuff. Dangerous drivers are actually very good in terms of driving skill, they just drive too fast, too aggressive, all that. The only reason they aren't dead is because they are such good drivers. Just curious from the photos, looks like some cars were in front of you. How many total were involved? And how in the world does an unlicensed person have auto insurance? Don't all companies require proof of that to sell policies? The question "Do computers think?" is the same as "Can submarines swim?" DragonFire Software Jeryth
