Like Christmas is to Christians, the three-day Eid el-Fitr holiday is associated with family gatherings over lavish meals and gifts for children, especially clothes. Most Arab leaders usually pardon hundreds of prisoners in goodwill gestures to mark the holiday. It's marked by the end of Ramadan, and authorities in various countries disagree about the exact date. For some, today was the beginning; for others, Tuesday begins the event. It depends upon when the next moon is sighted, signaling the end of Ramadan, and can vary depending upon local weather conditions. "Your village called -

I'm not a Muslim, but Eid is a big thing in India too, even though the Muslim population here is relatively small (though not so small either ;) ). So Eid Greetings to you too, and everyone else - Muslim or non-Muslim. :) Regards, Rohit Sinha Browsy

Thanks a lot Michael :-) Yeh all of us are well and we really enjoyed our eid. :) It was a great fun and a big family gathering at home. It was a great pleasure for me, to get some time out of my busy job and sparing with my family, relative and loved ones after a long long time. Well I thanked Roger for his well wishes. About his sig, he has already said Sorry. So nothing to add more. TRUE, time passes too quickly :-). I remember last year i posted the same EID GREETINGS message here on this forum and while posting it again this year, i felt how quickly the year has passed. @!$h@
