    I am looking screen recorder tool for Windows. There used to be tool like that in Win95 or Win3.1 Do you know any shareware or freeware tools which accomplish the following task? I want to create an AVI file (not screen shots) based on my actions (incl my mouse) on my windows application. TIA I'm :zzz: and I am not finding correct tool on google. :-O

      A while ago I used Winstructor from flickerfree http://www.flickerfree.com/Ws.html [^] and it did what I think you want to do. I don't think it has changed much since then, so it may not work on WinXP or 2000. It definately captures the cursor movements.

              Have a look at http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwscreen.html [^] I think the freeware CamStudio is what you want.

                Windows Media Encoder does what you want, with the bonus of being able to capture an audio stream into the file at the same time. It encodes as wmv format, but this could easily be converted to AVI if you want, although the smaller format of wmv is all I have ever needed.
