I bet they will review it over and over and over and over.... Full Story[^] In other news, the 2nd half streaker is the famous Mark Francis Roberts - who has been seen (literally) at many other major sporting events around the world (especially in the UK). Full Story[^] Steve

Some people at work were fussing about the Janet Jackson thing as well as the thongs some of the dancers were wearing. My reaction: grow up! (I find it especially ironic that they fuss over this during a sport where pumeling the opponent is a major part of the game.) I can't say much for their accuracy of reporting. If you click through the "who's who" style link[^] there is a page that contains some appauling inaccuracies. Here are some posts from another BBS that reflect my sentiments on the whole thing. Bold parts are my emphasis on the best (IMHO) parts of the posts.

Feb 2, 2004 13:16 from JL Boob> Well, this is obviously wandering away from real television issues, but I disagree completely, Pluck Duck. In other countries, nudity is common. You walk down the street and see billboards with bare breasts. And yet, somehow those countries are still around and have fewer of these sex-related problems than we do. What makes a bare breast unacceptable? The fact that someone _SAYS_ its's unacceptable. In reality, it's a body part, and no more unacceptable than a bare belly, IMO. By teaching our kids tht a bare breast is shocking and unacceptable, we are TEACHING them that this is what they should secretly crave in private. I would rather my child see a sex scene with full nudity than an action movie where someone gets shot with a shotgun. Yet the former would raise holy hell in american, while the latter gets shown every freakin day. Sex happens. Nudity happens. If my son doesn't see tits and enjoy them in his life, that would be a terrible thing, IMO. But he _could_ go his whole life without seeing someone be killed and I would be more than happy. Our standards are fucked up. I rewound the bare breast moment as we all watched a few times to see what really happened, and my 4-yr-old daughter watched too. She didn't care. That's how it should be. [Television USE HEADERS> msg #101082 (18 remaining)] Feb 2, 2004 13:24 from Falco Boob> I feel just horrible for these poor children who saw The Boob and will obviously be doomed to a life of poverty, crime and drug addiction. Thank God it was at least countered with a wholesome dose of horse farts, dogs locking their jaws onto nutsacks, monkeys having sex with humans, and the phrase "four-hour erections". [Television USE HEADERS> msg #101083 (17 remaining)] Feb 2, 2004 13:34 from Freud Boob> Amen, brother Falco! I was much more bothered by the idea of my 4 year old walking around talking about horse farts and erectile dysfunction than by her seeing a naked breast. She wouldn't even realize that it was "shocking" unless I made it seem that way. [Television USE HEADERS> msg #101084 (16 remaining)] Feb 2, 2004 16:18 from Major Kira SB> Falco and JL already broke this whole thing down better than I ever could, but I was thinking about it this morning and came to these conclusions: When NYPD Blue airs profanity, it's "dram

Didn't the English parliament end with the founding of the union in 1707 ? I think it's funny Scotland has one and, Wales has an assembley and others have parliaments n' stuff but England doesn't as its subject to British laws only. Regardz Colin J Davies

My kids did watch it. We even rewound the Dish Network PVR to verify if we actually saw what we thought we saw. Not one child on the planet was harmed directly by this, though they may be harmed by the vapid overreaction to it. I can't stand it when so called raunchy TV shows from the US air on late night TV here. After the presenter talks up how obscene or amazing some bizarre incident is all you get to see is stars, circles and fuzzy images covering up the good bits. And when a movie rated M appears all the bad words have been changed to damn, poo and other 3 year vocabulary terms. Why does the good ol US of A government get away with telling everyone what they can see, set it at a 4 year old level and the American population doesn't kick up a stink about not wanting to be looked after and controlling everything at the family level? Its not the American government really. Its the morons who are trying to do such things as take Shakespeare out of the libraries cause they say it's dis-tasteful. (Personally I don't care for Shakespeare--but was "schooled" in it) Government officials only agree 'somewhat' to get votes so they can stay in office. Personally I liked the stripping weather channel girls when I was in Europe :-O
