MSDN is getting more and more irritating to work with with every release. :( You really have to dig hard to find the documentation for the win32 api, no mather what i search on i either end up in CE, .Net or VB stuff. Anyone know if it is possible to just rip out the stuff you are not interested in? /Magnus

You can define your own subset of MSDN topics - choose Define Subset under the View menu. Just leave out CE, .NET and VB (and any other irrelevant stuff). Cheers Steen. Hopefully as of Januari 2002 it will be all better. MSDN Library will then feature an entirely new design with advanced filtering capabilities. Grtx, Berry

Oh no... they're going to "improve" it again? I bet it's going to have an activation code requirement. "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

As long as they don't give it the same makeover as they did to the web site. I guess they'll be writing the new MSDN is C# using web forms with ASP.NET. It'll probably require a web server just to install it :-) Michael :-)

You can either define a subset or delete the .chi files for the ones you don't need. The WindowsCE ones are easy, most begin with WCE.

What would have been trivial for the MSDN team to do would be to make the listbox that shows up when you click on a topic that has more than one option just a little bigger. The Windows CE topcis have "CE" at the end, but it is cut off of most of the topic lists becuase the box is a couple characters too small. It gets me every time! The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I agree. It takes at least a minute each time I click a link or search using MSDN online (using a T1 line). Their previous incarnation was much better. Such is the case with most Microsoft products lately.
