Whenever I click a URL which contains zip file then Winzip automatically opens up and displays the contents inside that zip file. How can I stop that? I just want to save the zip file. I know there is a settings option to stop that functionality in Winzip, but my 4 eyes couldn't able to find that. :-O
Promise only what you can do. And then deliver more than what you promised.

Can you not right click on the link and say save as. Clicking on the link loads it and run the associated application. You could disassociate the .zip with the application. deleted confessionCM 22 Feb '04

But if I try to download like that from GotDotNet Workspaces it doesn't work, b'cos at first it displays GotDotNet copyrights dialog and I have to clicke OK to go further. But when Winzip opens up it displays no files inside that zip file. Michael A. Barnhart wrote: You could disassociate the .zip with the application. Yep. That's good idea. Let me try.

You have to change the "Confirm after download" setting to be switched on. Open an explorer window, go to tools/options. In here find the entry for "zip", click advanced and then click the "Confirm" checkbox. note: this is in windows XP - have a look in the same area on other OS's

I think I am a little brain dead today. Yes you should be able to confirm the opening, and I do not see it either. Deleted ConfessionCM 22 Feb '04
