VC .Net Standard and VStudio .Net Professional, but nothing in between? :(( My company has been planning on upgrading from Visual C 6 Professional for some time now, but my hopes for an equivalent .Net 2003 product have been dashed. Our comapny isn't interested in anything except Visual C, but we have to buy the complete Visual Studio package to get the optimising compiler. Having to buy 20 or so licenses at about $1800 AUD each is, well, a huge amount of money. But anyways, the sun is shining, and everything is still peachy, its just one of those "I wish it were different" moments. :-D Phil

I am in the same situation (not at work, but at home). What I am thinking is buying VC.NET Standard and Intel C++ Compiler. This might be an option for you, too.

I've seen everywhere that they do, but I've been unable to find any hard numbers saying what the discounts are. I'm also not the guy who says "We'll be buying this", so I've been a bit hesitant about phoning or emailing people. Thanks for the heads up though Jeremy, I'll look into it.

I am in the same situation. Programming is just a hobby. So I hate to spend $$$$ for the whole package when all I want is VC++. I tried Intel C++ compiler, for my particular situation VC++ 6.0 produced a faster exe file. Your mileage may vary. Kevin
