My opinion: Boxing is not a sport, it is just a couple of guys beating the crap out of each other. Boxing should be banned. Anybody who enjoys watching boxing are just a bunch of neanderthals(sp?) reverting to their primal instincts. Boxers are bunch of losers who don't have the brains to do anything but throw their fists around. Boxing promoters are a bunch of leaches who would do anything for a buck. /My opinion: --- It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

So what sport is worthy in your opinion? By worthy I don't mean just doesn't involve punching someone in the head either. All sports really have no purpose other than to prove one person is better than the other. Many sports lead to people dying or being permanently injured also. I just don't get the animosity it's their choice. Do you also hate people of different religious view points or sexual orientation? No ones making you watch or participate. Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018 "Don't belong. Never join. Think for yourself. Professional boxing is a farse. Don King is a corrupt money making beast, hardly human at all. The fights are rigged, the fans disapointed (imagine paying $500 for a ring side seat only to watch a 5 second boxing match?!?) and frankly even hinting that pro-boxing is a sport is degrading to all sportsmen. All this drivel coming from a South African. Now what can I say ... "Ah yes, cricket, Hansie Cronje and that opening bat bloke Gibb's or something so unimportant that I can't remember his name.". Now that was corruption at it's best, "Yes I can throw that match if you pay me enough.". And sportsmenship, we rugger types aren't really as good as we say so lets shoulder play makers on the other team while their not in possesion of the ball. Give me Mike Tyson and Don King anytime. At least they don't hide behind "Gee we're fucking nice blokes and believe in God and that.". They're and know it be it. If he was really that bad, Tszyu would have just knocked him down again, & the fight would have been over. Yeah but remember he was stupified beyond belief and y'all live in the land of I'm not responsible and I'm gonna sue your arse. I think besides knowing Judah would continue to be beaten senseless (as he had no control of himself) the ref was also concerned of legal proceedings being taken against him. Doesn't matter. Judah is a boxer. Boxers know they are taking certain risks when they step into the ring. If they want to get their faces smashed in, let them. Survival of the fittest. Jon Sagara "After all is said and done, usually more is said than done." -- Unknown

So what sport is worthy in your opinion? Hockey is my number one choice, football, curling, soccer is ok, baseball, basketball, tennis, ect. basicly any sport that relies on the skill and stamina of the athlete. Any sport who's sole object it is is to give your opponent a concussion (more points if you place him in a coma) does not deserve my respect. Do you also hate people of different religious view points or sexual orientation? I can't believe that you would stoop so low as to as to suggest this. Why is it that when ever someone can't support their argument on it's merits, they have to start calling the other guy a bigot or racist. this is the same thing that happens here in Canada if you don't agree with everything the politically correct crowd says when it comes to the settlement of various social issues. You have to either agree 100% with them, or you are the devil incarnate. No ones making you watch or participate You're right, and I don't. But that won't stop me from having an opinion ;P --- It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

OK, here's my opinion: Boxing is a sport because A. It involves physical activity and training, B. People compete to win. The fact that the activity involves throwing punches at another person does not mean it isn't a sport. There's also two things to note: 1. The object is to hit your opponent more than he hits you, not to kill him or cause grave bodily injury. 2. Usually after a match you see the opponents embrace and say, "Good Fight!". This seals the event as what it is: a competition, not a death match. Boxers could say that programmers are a bunch of fat nerds who couldn't defend themselves from a fly. Boxing promoters are probably not much different than technical recruiters. Regards, Alvaro

Hockey is my number one choice... From what I have seen of Ice Hockey it seems to be a dance with a puck as a lead up to punching the other bloke into submission/unconsciousness. Can't see how you can like this and hate boxing so much. Boxers choose to box, train and have the skill level to do what they do. Not that many end up in coma's. Also boxing doesn't have sticks to hit other people with. yes I have seen this in professional hockey. I can't believe that you would stoop so low as to as to suggest this. Didn't suggest anything simply a question. I didn't call you a racist either. You seemed to have a hate of boxers (not people who like boxing) and you hate boxing. So the question wasn't that much of a stretch. I can support my arguments and I don't care if others have differing opinions I like to see that they can support their arguments without contradicting themselves. With your love for hockey I think you lose the argument on contradiction. Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018 "Don't belong. Never join. Yes, I've heard the joke: "I went to the fight, and a hockey game broke out." But the fight is not the point of hockey. Hockey is a rough game, and sometimes (too frequently) some players loose their cool and they fight. That does not mean I like the fights, it just means they happen. I have also seen fights in basketball, baseball, soccer, and even tennis. Does that mean there is no difference between these sports and boxing?? Of course not!! Boxing has the fight as it's main and only attraction, and that point alone is enough for me to dislike it. I don't hate boxers, I have never meet one. I just think that anyone who thinks that beating the crap out of someone else (or getting the crap beat out of them) is a good way to make a living can not be the most intelligent person around. Enough said, you are not going to get me to change my mind, and I am not trying to change yours.
