A new design for a new client. Your thoughts?

I just finished this design for my newest client. I have a meeting with them tomorrow morning to show them the concept, so any feedback is most welcome. Please note that the choice of colours are based on their required corporate colours. Thanks! http://www.netlab.com.au/images/design3.jpg[^] NATHAN RIDLEY Web Application Developer email: nathan @ netlab.com.au [remove the spaces before and after the @ symbol]

That is well done, Nathan. Two things I would change; The tagline under the logo, it is too small to read even for my young eyes . Secondly, in what area do they rent? Remember this is a website and so viewable to everyone from Beijing to Katmandu to LA, it needs to be visually localised if the physical business is localised. We are looking for a new web-designer here in South Africa, if one submitted work like that I would definitely consider hiring them. It is a web-design, not a modified print-design like so many "web"-designers churn out. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan quoted: "...that would require my explaining Einstein's Fear of Relatives" Crikey! ain't life grand? Please note that the choice of colours are based on their required corporate colours. Thanks! I find it simple and attractive. The company phone# is quick to see, as the main operations (email alert, search & view). Just one thing made me curious: why the choice of a machine-tranlated Portuguese text for the subtitles? Due to technical difficulties my previous signature, "I see dump people" will be off until further notice. Too many people were thinking I was talking about them... :sigh:

Thanks for the feedback, Paul. Unfortunately for me, the logo is the corporate logo of the entire chain here in Australia, so as much as I'd like to play with it, it's strictly untouchable! Luckily it doesn't say anything important though. Regarding the locality, the domain name itself will be InnerBrisbane.com.au, thus solving the ambiguity of location. I had that same concern myself until I found out what the domain name was going to be. Hi Daniel, thanks for the feedback. The text was just a spur of the moment choice. I seem to find myself in the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position with this. When I include easy to read english sample text, half the clients say they like the design but they'd like to make some changes to the text. DUH. STUPID CLIENT! *SLAP* Of course sometimes when you put in foreign text, they get confused too. *shrug* NATHAN RIDLEY Web Application Developer email: nathan @ netlab.com.au [remove the spaces before and after the @ symbol]

Hi, well, you can check out www.netlab.com.au[^] if you like, it has a few of my designs, but I have a better selection offline. I'm actually quite busy at the moment, but I won't rule anything out, depending on the job. Actually come to think of it, I didn't do any of the designs on there, I subcontracted them out because I was too busy writing code... hrmm. Well, anyway, let me know if you want me to zip up and send you my local selection. Then why not use the "industry standard" Lorem Ipsum latin text? An explanation and generator can be found here.

Because I kinda knew it existed but didn't know where to look, and didn't know what it said, so I didn't know what to look for. And typing "latin sample text" into google wasn't very helpful. Besides, my clients don't know it's the "industry standard". They're real estate agents :P NATHAN RIDLEY Web Application Developer email: nathan @ netlab.com.au [remove the spaces before and after the @ symbol]
