What's the worst song of all time?
-
According to this it is "We built this city"[^] by the Starship X| Rounding out the top 10: "Achy Breaky Heart," Billy Ray Cyrus; "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" Wang Chung; "Rollin'," Limp Bizkit; "Ice Ice Baby," Vanilla Ice; "The Heart of Rock & Roll," Huey Lewis and the News; "Don't Worry Be Happy," Bobby McFerrin; "Party All the Time," Eddie Murphy; "American Life," Madonna; and "Ebony and Ivory," Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. I kind of like "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" Gary Kirkham A working Program is one that has only unobserved bugs I thought I wanted a career, turns out I just wanted paychecks
But people seem to be creative about making things worse... :-D Due to technical difficulties my previous signature, "I see dumb people" will be off until further notice. Too many people were thinking I was talking about them... :sigh:

The Carl Douglas song 'Kung Fu Fighting' has never been a fave of mine. X| Chris Meech We're more like a hobbiest in a Home Depot drooling at all the shiny power tools, rather than a craftsman that makes the chair to an exacting level of comfort by measuring the customer's butt. Marc Clifton VB is like a toolbox, in the hands of a craftsman, you can end up with some amazing stuff, but without the skills to use it right you end up with Homer Simpson's attempt at building a barbeque or his attempt at a Spice rack. I don't know about worst, but one of the most hilarious is "The Ripper", by Judas Priest. It always reminded me of "This Is Spinal Tap". Regards, Jeff Varszegi

I don't think that's fair. It was no "White Rabbit" but I kinda liked "We Built this City". My all-time candidate is that song "I'm Too Sexy". I F@#*'IN HATE THAT GUY. After that it'd be a pretty narrow field like...anything on the radio now. Brian "In the beginning the Universe was created. Most the songs listed sound like the rantings of a crank. "Acy Breaky Heart" and "The Heart of Rock and Roll" may be irritating and even strongly disliked, but are, by no means, the worse songs ever. They're not even close. Since they include a rendition, even, I suppose, if the original was fine, how could they not include William Shatner's rendition of Rocket Man. (Trying to find the mpeg or MP3 of this has proven difficult. Actually anything sung by Shatner is painful to the ears. Found this link, but they are .ram files: http://home.earthlink.net/~dougwk/bill.html[^]. Here's the MP3: http://www.cluke.demon.co.uk/songs.html#rockman[^]) Besides, I think of many songs from the late 70s and shudder. (Did a search; "Boogie Oogie Oogie", "Love is like Oxygen".. aaahhh, the memories... hurt....) Anyone who thinks he has a better idea of what's good for people than people do is a swine. - P.J. Those are nothing, in fact I rather like most of those songs except American Life and Party All the Time. I once karaoked Achy Breaky Heart in front of hundreds of people to win a Sound Blaster 16, I lost which makes the memory even more painful. And we all know the worst song of all time is: Badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger mushroom mushroom. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan quoted: "...that would require my explaining Einstein's Fear of Relatives" Crikey! ain't life grand? push pinapple, grind coffee, to the left, to the right, jump up and down...... I've now got that damned song going round in my head. Damn you Caldecott! I'll get you for this..... Mark my words...... ;P

Yes! I recently bought "The Transformed Man" on vinyl on eBay and used this service to remaster it onto CD. Now I have an hour's worth of high-quality MP3s containing Shatner's most entertaining bellowings ever recorded. He's supposedly releasing a new album, you know. Regards, Jeff
