Can Yoga reduce sleep requirement?

Can Yoga reduce sleep requirement? I was told there're drugs that let you stay awake for, say, a day (24 hours), then you're going to crash and sleep like a baby. But there're many side effects for that. I was also told that if you practise Yoga long enough you're going to be able to get by on a 5 hours sleep a day schedule. Is there anything I can quote on? Preferably from professional medical community? Thanks in advance. Norman Fung

There's a watch - supposedly designed at NASA - that enables you to take "power naps" where you sleep just until you get to the point of falling into deep sleep. I was trying to find it now and can't. It was something I stumbled onto a couple of months ago. Basically, it monitors your blood flow and pulse and sounds an alarm when you're about to fall into a deep sleep. I'll send a URL if I can find the site. It's not a joke, actually. 'speed' as sold on the black market is just amphetamine. The army has been giving it to soldiers since the 1960's so they wouldn't need as much sleep. In 'regular' pharmacies one of the brand names is 'Captagon', although it's no longer available without prescription where I live (Europe).

Yeah well I never said it was healthy :) Your body can handle once every few months though. Oh and don't be scared of drugs because of a dea website - they're paid to fight drugs, they couldn't just undermine their own business now could they? (mind you, I'm not saying that that woman is in any way fake - meth is no good over the mid- to long term, that's for sure).
