Roundup Do not let the 0.7 version number put you off. It is quite usable 'out of the box'. (Requires the active state python - free download).

BugTracker v1.0 - Absolutely stunning tool written by our developer Brendan Fry in house.....for a first ever app (bearing in mind he's never written a line of code a month earlier), it's stonking. Actually, for any app, it's stonking. Of course it's all down to me teaching him sooooo well. "Now I guess I'll sit back and watch people misinterpret what I just said......" We use an in-house system based on Lotus Notes which our IT people wrote. The interface is truly awful, it lacks reporting capabilities and it doesn't integrate with our Feature/Task Management or Source Code Control systems. It's ghastly, but we're stuck with it because "Lotus Notes is a company standard". Bugzilla. It takes a bit of Linux experience to setup, but once it's working, it works forever. Due to technical difficulties my previous signature, "I see dumb people" will be off until further notice. Too many people were thinking I was talking about them... :sigh:

Definitely not Alexsys Team; the only good thing about it is that it's better than Remedy, which is awful. (Were I to recommend a new system to my company, I'd go with TestTrack Pro by Seapine. I'd also switch from SourceSafe to Seapine's SurroundSCM to give us an integrated environment.) Anyone who thinks he has a better idea of what's good for people than people do is a swine. - P.J. O'Rourke

I prefer to think of them as undocumented features ;P Seriously though I work completely independently and for my own projects. Bug tracking to me is, for example, people complaining if that if they post anything on my website with apostrophes they will get SqlException errors. Matt Newman

We use Merant's (now Serena) PVCS Tracker here. It's OK, but the web interface doesn't give you the kind of power that you can get with the Windows client. It can connect to Oracle, SQL server, and DBase databases. Some of the apps, like the project adminstration tool, still look like old Windows 3.1 programs, but the latest client software is pretty good. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a little expensive, so smaller companies may want to find something else. I think we pay about $2k per year for updates and unlimited technical support. You can get more info here[^]. we use Clearquest for bug tracking. It's a horrible piece of software but it does what they need for a large number of developers all using the same system. We've looked at several other solutions but frankly many of them are so ****ing complicated that you have to waste a month just learning the system.

I don't know about others, but I generally don't bother - most of the times I've raised something I've been told it can't be fixed because it's a feature of Notes....and they aren't going to change just because I (and others) don't like it.
