First post from my new notebook. Hp zv5000 Processor: AMD64 3200+ Video: NVIDIA Geforce4 440 Go 64M Screen: 15.4" 1680x1050 I just got it loaded with VS.net 2003. All I can say is w00t! r0x0r all that. I can't wait until the 64bit version of windows comes out, or at least SP2 with NX security enabled.
If you don't kill me you will only make me stronger That and a cup of coffee will get you 2 cups of coffee

Nice! But how much does it weigh and what's the battery life? cheers, Chris Maunder

Just read your BIO. So after years of working for Dell you bought an HP? ;-) I was just thinking about taking on your new powerhouse with my new tablet and instantly had visions of the Tortoise and the Hare... Sure you're fast out of the gate, but I'll wear you down with my battery life :D David

a ton for a notebook. 10 pounds, but I'm not taking it traveling much. The battery is running around 2 and a half hours if I'm maxing it out which is better then I thought it would be. The 64 has performance stepping built in, even though it is mainly a desktop processor. I needed a replacement notebook and was looking to go 64 bit so that I can test writing 64 bit apps.

If I had gone Intel, I probably would have bought a Dell. On the other hand I worked in tech support for a while so I only saw broken dells for the longest time. This definitely doesn't have the best battery life in the world, but it gets me a view from the front porch, and down to the local coffee shop. Which is good enough for me.

2 1/2 hours!!!! I purchased a new laptop about a month and a half ago. Acer Ferrari 3000 and I'm happy to show it off. Until someone asks about battery life. I'm getting about 1hr 50min out of it. (But the automotive finish makes up for it) Please tell me that I've got better battery life than someone else with a newer laptop.

Sweet! I didn't buy the 64bit AMD version for my new home pc because there's no real software released for it yet, and spent the 'extra' cash on a Radeon 9600XT and some other goodies. So you decided not to go for a Dell? I have to say I love my Inspiron 8500 2.4Ghz. The wide-screen on it is incredible :D.
