Porsches are girls’ cars

I agree completely, especially when it comes to 911s. The old models with the big fixed spoilers were cool, but these new ones (which kinda look like they're crying) are ugly. The one exception is the Porsche Carrera GT. That's a sweet looking car. I actually have it as my desktop wallpaper. It's so sweet that Porsche hasn't even decided if they'll produce it -- probably because it would break their tradition of making ugly cars :-). Regards, Alvaro

Bah! What is it with Porsche that people seem to like? They are ghastly (they are all look like wheelybins with – err – wheels). If I wanted to drive round in a convertible dustbin, then I’d buy a BMW. Just where is your taste? If you’ve got that kind of money to waste, then why not get a decent car like a Merc or a Jag - something that looks like a car – not a reject from the Coke machine factory. Note, this is a serious question. ________________ David Wulff http://www.davidwulff.co.uk Statistics show that of those who contract the habit of eating, very few survive. — Wallace Irwin

The Porsche Boxster is the sexiest looking, feeling, driving car on the planet, bar none. If you've never driven one, go to your local dealer and take one for a fly. Feel the accelleration push you back into the seat, and the deceleration is equally amazing. Porsche are renowned for the brakes, amongst other things. To realy experience a Porsche though you need to get one on to a race track. It gets even better when you have the unadultered thrill and rush of being the passenger on a track with a professional racing car drive at the wheel. I'm speaking from experience here. Even washing a Boxster is a pleasure, with all those sensuous shapely curves.:-D And of course it has to be red. Neville Franks, Author of ED for Windows. Neville Franks wrote: And of course it has to be red. That explains a lot - you are obviously still a little boy at heart! :-D For that reason, and that reason alone, I will let you get away with saying the Boxster* is the best car to drive. (* Hell, they even named it after a trash can ;)) Neville Franks wrote: If you've never driven one, go to your local dealer and take one for a fly I wouldn't be seen dead in any Ferrari Red car, let alone one of the less attractive models of Porsche. Neville Franks wrote: To realy experience a Porsche though you need to get one on to a race track I'd rather have a car that was practical to drive. You talk about experiencing the acceleration... well, have you ever sat in the drivers seat of a Jaguar? If you have, then you would know that it is a car people buy to drive, not to stick in a glass garage and show off with. I'll race you away from the traffic lights in your coke machine any day. :) ________________ David Wulff http://www.davidwulff.co.uk "I loathe people who keep dogs. I like Porsches... ok, I wouldn't pick one over a Ferrari, but definitely over a BMW or Jaguar (ok, it depends, maybe not a Boxter over a XKR) As for Porsches being girls' cars, I for sure would like a girl on a 911 Turbo. Unless it's a Porsche that is" Great. There are, however, many more quotes (too numerous to type out) that state, in as many words, that a Porsche is the most difficult sports car to drive, it's too big, their ride is too hard, the steering does not give enough feedback, and so the list goes on. In effect, you get reliability but not quality. As to BMW's. Well, let's just say that on average he likes them about as much as he likes Nissan's, and that chapter is titled "Nasty Nissans". Not so much for the car, but the type of people who drive them. 'nuff said I think. In summary, given the choice between a Range Rover, a Porsche 911, a Fiat Cinqecento Sporting, a Mini Cooper, a Volvo T5 and a Jaguar; he choose the Jag. In fact, his top five cars in the world are the Doge Viper, the ASton Martin Vantage, the Escort Cosworth, the Ferrari 355, and the Jaguar XJR. (Oh, just one thing I forgot to mention - he is the single most respected car reveiwer in the UK.) ________________ David Wulff http://www.davidwulff.co.uk "I loathe people who keep dogs. Well, I never have had the pleasure of driving (or even riding) a Porsche, but I really like the car... the Carrera GT is awesome! I've read (no quote here, I don't remember exactly where, but several articles) that Prosches are great for driving, but I've also read bad reviews. I thinks it's a matter of personal taste. The best cars I've driven are an Audi TT (180 hp) and a new BMW 330Ci (the former with manual trasmision, the latter automatic) and both were a pleasure to drive... A thousand times better than my VW Jetta/Bora... Cheers, -- LuisR -------- Luis Alonso Ramos Chihuahua, Mexico www.luisalonsoramos.com

The Porshche Boxster is a hairdressers car, if you want a REAL mans car try a Lexus IS200 or TVR tuscan. Check out: http://www.tvr.co.uk/graphics/tuscanr/latest\_pics/side.lge.jpg - now that's my kindof(CCar); ;) Normski. - Professional Windows Programmer
