No Johnny Wallker is the great whiskey. I'm asking about John Walker the US kid who was packing a AK47 in Teleban country. If he has a Kiwi kid from here, Myself and others would be demanding that he be put up against a wall, and executed for treason amongst other things. I really expected to hear a strong outrage coming out from the US public (who tote guns unlike us). Maybe I just haven't been getting the news on this or the newsfeeds aren't publishing it. Since there is a NZ contingent of SAS somewhere in Afghanistan, He is an enemy to both them and my country as well as the US and other involved countries presences. So my question is "How do you Yanks feel about him? " Regardz Colin J Davies

I would shake his hand for having the courage of his convictions, than I would shoot him for being an asshole. "But, daddy, that was back in the hippie ages..." It's a little tricky in that when he joined the Taliban, they weren't fighting the US. Despite that however, once the US became involved, he picked sides. As far as I'm concerned, he decided to be a traitor, and should be judged on that. My fear is that despite his clearly anti-american behavior, a skilled defense lawyer will get him off. :( David http://www.dundas.com

Just one British perspective:- Do not sink to the depths of the people you are fighting . Put him on trial for treason , or whatever the American equivilant is , and then use the force of law to prosecute him. Its a pity that his citizenship could not be revoked , and he be forced to stay in Afgahnistan. Regards Torrance

Sorry to be pedantic but. Johnny Walker is a scotch whisky and therefore doesn't have an 'e' between the 'k' and 'y'. Irish whiskey, American whiskey and scotch whisky. As for the other question, I think the whole situation has brought the worst out in everyone so stories like that are no longer a surprise to me. The process of de-sensitisation (don't know if thats a word!!) has begun, and there ain't shit we can do about it. :((
