Fridges? Washing machines? Pah. Clearly they haven't been doing their market research properly. We all know that the one thing in a household that begs to be internet enabled is the loo. cheers, Chris Maunder

I think they're going about this the wrong way. Networked appliances are a great idea, but who wants to use a fridge to browse the web? Phones, MP3 players, PDAs are all converging and becoming more powerful. Why not simply settle on a common protocol that will allow your fridge or bread-maker or electric toothbrush to communicate with your PDA. That way you can control the applicance in whatever way you want using your own preset preferences. Obviously it's nicer to have a big screen and keyboard at hand instead of a phone's keypad, but once we all have our neural shunts this will be a moot point :D cheers, Chris Maunder
