Andrew Schulman diskette ?
-
Back in the day when Andrew Schulman and Matt Pietrek ruled the PC world :) , I learned so much from their "unauthorized" Windows books. Unfortunately, the diskette I have from Schulman's book is kaput. Does anyone here happen to have one they could copy for me? I can, of course, provide proof that I own the book. This book has been OOP for many years and so the publisher is no help here. Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess. I have a folder named 'Unauthorized Windows 95' on my floppy disk CD-ROM archive. The floppy disk has long since disappeared but the folder contains 6 zip files and the readme file says that it's the disk accompanying Unauthorized Windows 95, by Andrew Schulman (IDG Books, 1994). Let me know if you want me to email the files to you - approx 800Kb. Gavin

Thanks Steve! By the way, do you know of an utility to copy the branch of a web site? This guy basically states (back in 2002) that he doesn't think anyone's ever going to read this information and so I'm worried that it could disappear at any time. Thanks for the pointer to your product, Neville. I just downloaded it. It's 5:30am here and I'm no longer a spring chicken :) so I'm hitting the sack for a couple of hours and will play with this tomorrow and send you some feedback. Hi Tom, 5.30am is around the time I start work for the day. Maybe us Aussies do things differently to you folks in the US.:) I'll look forward to hearing back, good, bad or otherwise. Keep in mind that it is a Beta and it is also a Debug build, but I'm getting close'ish to a release I hope. Actually, the thing I used to joke about was that if I was up at 6, it was because I hadn't been to bed :) Nowadays, I typically get up early instead of staying up all night. However, today's a holiday here so it's a great chance to get some work done that I normally don't get to. Neville Franks wrote: Keep in mind that it is a Beta and it is also a Debug build, No problem. I figured that was why you wanted f/b :) Seriously, the debug will definitely help as I can give you more detailed info on asserts and such - assuming there are any ;) Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess. Tom Archer wrote: I typically get up early instead of staying up all night I tend to do both - get up early, and stay up all night - and it is wearing me out. I'm up at 6 or earlier every day, working or not, but still find it hard to call it quits before 2AM. How do you shut off your brain at 9 or 10 PM, like normal people seem to do, and just go to sleep? Enjoy the holiday... I'm off to work again. It's so much nicer than not working at all.:-D "My kid was Inmate of the Month at Adobe Mountain Juvenile Corrections Center" - Bumper Sticker in Bullhead City

IOW, I always worked out here and there, but not in a consistent, documented way. I've been doing that for 14 weeks now and I'm pretty much exhausted when I hit the bed. Tom Archer wrote: I started working out really seriously. Great! You'll be much happier for it, and healthier. My time for exercising is the morning, and it gives me greater energy rather than depleting it. Karate is more strenuous, but it also energizes me after a half hour of recovery time. The only way I can slow down and sleep is to consume large quantities of beer, a practice that is neither healthy, nor affordable. I'm working on that...:sigh: "My kid was Inmate of the Month at Adobe Mountain Juvenile Corrections Center" - Bumper Sticker in Bullhead City

I'm not quite at my all-time best shape, but I'm getting real close and should be there within the next 3-6 months. Not bad at the age of 40 :) Roger Wright wrote: My time for exercising is the morning, and it gives me greater energy rather than depleting it. Definitely better in the morning. I find that if I plan the workout for later in the day, I let that pesky thing called "life" get in the way and then end up missing the workout. Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess.
