Two weeks back I was on a Road Trip to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. I noticed this town on I-70 Eighty Four, PA[^] Anybody come across any other towns with weird names? :wtf:

Or, if you happen to be in Wales ... Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (this is easier to pronounce after a few pints) ;) Steve T

Everything I say sounds like "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch" when I had too many pints. ;P Denevers

How about "Cut and Shoot" Texas or "Bug Tussle" Texas or "Fink" Texas Texas has some really strange names. The above are just samples :) Richard "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer --Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

My favorite is still Nameless, Texas. I do not mind getting old. It beats all the other options that can think of.

Most states have a town called Climax. There is one in Michigan i pass when driving Toronto <-> San Diego off of I94 between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Kinda funny to see signs "Climax 10 miles" ... "Climax 1 mile" ...cmk Save the whales - collect the whole set

I thought Bullhead was strange until I saw what some others have posted here. There's a major lumber company in the US called 84 Lumber. I never have learned why they picked that dumb name, but now I wonder if the company may have originated in 84, PA? On a sidenote, I did a search once to see if there are any other places called Bullhead. Keep in mind that we're located on a river, the Colorado, and the nearest town is Laughlin, NV. Then check out Bullhead, SD[^] and tell me that's not weird. What are the odds that there'd be a Bullhead, SD, located on a river (the Grand River, I believe), with the nearest neighbor being McLaughlin? I can't understand why the Chamber of Commerce hasn't done anything to market this weirdity. Heck, we ought to buy them all plane tickets here for a weekend of gambling! How many other odd coincidences of place names can the CP crowd come up with in the world? "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

Actually it is close to Jonestown, about 10 miles west of Turkey Hollow. I am not familiar with Dryhump. I do not mind getting old. It beats all the other options that can think of.
