Just for giggles I checked out Toronto's weather and Sydney's weather for today/tomorrow: Toronto, Canada: -8C - -5C (18F - 23F) Richmond (near Sydney), Australia: 18C - 39C (64F - 102F) What's it like where you are, and does this affect how you work? For me hot days mean I have the case off the PC and the fan blowing directly on it to keep it cool, lots of water and a very low concentration span. cheers, Chris Maunder

I had to keep poking a paperclip into the back of it to stop it again and again until it started up quietly. AFter taking my case off one day I noticed my *CPU* fan simply wasn't spinning at all. I ended up having my computer backwards with my floor fan blowing into my power supply, and I figured I'd just keep on ignoring the CPU fan abnormality. On the 22th of december I was travelling to visit my parents over the cristmas holiday. It is a 500 km/310 miles tour through the northern parts of Sweden. The warmest temperature my car thermometer reported during that trip was -27 degrees Celcius. The coldest temperature was -38 degrees Celcius... :-) Right now the temperature has been between -20 and -25 for the last few days. Feels almost like summer.... :-) /Mike

Current Forecast for Jacksonville, FL Mostly Cloudy High: 69°F Low: 43°F Some nights it gets below freezing, but not lately. I love the winter time here. It gets cold enough to require a good jacket, but never snows. Well, it did in 1989, enough to build a snowman. Jason Gerard

São Paulo, Brasil: It's cold here today, because it is raining, it's about 26C, but some days ago it was about 36C. The warmer the day, the greater the probability I stay programming at home, because I work at the center of São Paulo, where you don't see a tree for a mile, and is hotter. From beautiful New Jersey: Highs 42F or 5C Lows 24F or -4C Mainly cloudy This is the time of year I detest. Gray skys, lawn and shrubs are yellow-brown, and no snow. I wish we would get an inch or two of powder to cover everything and make it look like winter.

Hi Josh, The Boston job market is pretty bad. Startup funding is still on the sidelines, but a few companies are hiring selectively. From your resume, it seems that you may be interested in SolidWorks in Concord. Here in Hampshire, England - Its flippin cold. Lots of frost and some areas have had snow. I envy you Chris, I want to be somewhere warm! Mind you I work better in the winter because it takes my mind off how cold I feel. In the summer and especially when there is a heat wave, my mind tends to drift too much, as I start thinking of sitting outside in the sun, holidays in France, playing golf and women wearing less.... (sorry, getting carried away with myself there).
