Just for giggles I checked out Toronto's weather and Sydney's weather for today/tomorrow: Toronto, Canada: -8C - -5C (18F - 23F) Richmond (near Sydney), Australia: 18C - 39C (64F - 102F) What's it like where you are, and does this affect how you work? For me hot days mean I have the case off the PC and the fan blowing directly on it to keep it cool, lots of water and a very low concentration span. cheers, Chris Maunder

From beautiful New Jersey: Highs 42F or 5C Lows 24F or -4C Mainly cloudy This is the time of year I detest. Gray skys, lawn and shrubs are yellow-brown, and no snow. I wish we would get an inch or two of powder to cover everything and make it look like winter.

hot days suck for working ... i sit and stare out of the window down to the beach and get bored so so easily winter is programming time ... i would expect the average bear to make a good programmer with all that hibernating and such :) --- "every year we invent better idiot proof systems and every year they invent better idiots ... and the linux zealots still aren't being sterilized"

On the 22th of december I was travelling to visit my parents over the cristmas holiday. It is a 500 km/310 miles tour through the northern parts of Sweden. The warmest temperature my car thermometer reported during that trip was -27 degrees Celcius. The coldest temperature was -38 degrees Celcius... :-) Right now the temperature has been between -20 and -25 for the last few days. Feels almost like summer.... :-) /Mike

Hey Ravi, Glad to know there's some other New Englanders here. I'm up in Maine but I drive by Chelmsford about once a week on 495. How's the job market down there? I may be moving south since there aren't any jobs up here. Maybe we'll be neighbors. Josh Knox that-guy.net

Hi Josh, The Boston job market is pretty bad. Startup funding is still on the sidelines, but a few companies are hiring selectively. From your resume, it seems that you may be interested in SolidWorks in Concord. Here in Hampshire, England - Its flippin cold. Lots of frost and some areas have had snow. I envy you Chris, I want to be somewhere warm! Mind you I work better in the winter because it takes my mind off how cold I feel. In the summer and especially when there is a heat wave, my mind tends to drift too much, as I start thinking of sitting outside in the sun, holidays in France, playing golf and women wearing less.... (sorry, getting carried away with myself there).
