A poll with a slight twist: What are your favourite movies ? The twist - all listed must be significantly different from each other. Mine are: Elvira Mistress of the Dark (classy trash comedy, brilliant) Shakespear in Love (romance drama and comedy in one) Leon (utterly compelling and heart breaking at the end) Blues Brothers ('nuff said   ) Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

Highlander (Great adventure) When Harry met Sally (Best romance/comedy ever made) 2001 (While not as good as the book, it's one of the best Sci-fi movies ever made) Dark City (Quite spooky, and, I think, a better movie implementation of "The Wonderland Gambit" than Matrix :-) ) "After all it's just text at the end of the day. - Colin Davies "For example, when a VB programmer comes to my house, they may say 'does your pool need cleaning, sir ?' 1. Casablanca. The story above all others! That's the number one. Really, the list could, and probably should, end here. But I just can't keep my mouth shut. Seriously, I can't: 1. Twelve angry men. The great film about a jury trying to give verdict on a murderer. Oh the suspense! 1. Autumn Sonata The painful story of a diva mother being told the truth by her neglected daughter. That's Ingmar Bergman, for you illiterate moviegoers (oh boy am I going to be flamed now =). 1. Breakfast at Tiffany's If you argue that this one is not significantly different from Casablanca, you need help (quickly). And, of course, in no particular order (grin): 2. Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind 3. The big Lebowski 4. Bowling for Columbine 5. Down by law (Jim Jarmusch) Part of the non-smoking generation since 12/5-2003 22.35.

Dark City One of the best sci-fi movies of all time (and everything that The Matrix should have been)... You'd be surprised at how many people have never heard of that film... You wouldn't be surprised at how many people that have seen it don't get it... ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Casablanca Star Wars Trilogy (Okay, not really one movie) Die Hard South Park : Bigger, Longer, Uncut Not sure if these are significantly different from each other. As they all share common themes, but they are all different genres. Michael CP Blog [^]

If you thought Dark City was better than The Matrix, then you need to see 'The Thirteenth Floor' which is ALSO better than The Matrix as for a storyline and a twist.
