Come on, the Yanks are in trouble. They need alot more help than some left handed pitching. They have 1 half way decent pitcher and even at that he isnt that good of an ace. The reason the sox won was pitching and desire. They both had the same tired arms and the Red Sox pitchers went out there and pitched their hearts out. I woke up this morning feeling invigorated by this news. The free-spending Yankees are a sinking ship! Their DeathStar was just destroyed for the second time by a man whose has more hair than all of the Ewoks combined. What happens to the Yankees now? They are locked into a lot of bad contracts, have no farm system and no direction. Who are they going to sign? Pedro? Go ahead. That would have been news four years ago. Carlos Beltran? Go ahead. What lefty pitcher are you going to put up against that Red Sox lineup? Brian Cashman will be fired, as will Mel Stottlemyer. Joe Torre, the ugliest manager in baseball, should retire. The worst collapse in the history of baseball, possibly of major American sports, and it was the Red Sox who did it to the Yankees. WE did it to THEM. BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA. They did it in spite of Francona being bitten by the ghost of Littles past in the 7th inning, their ace pitcher having his foot nearly fall off at the ankle, and their worst pitcher (statistically) starting games 4 and 7 (both Sox wins). Half of the equation has been accomplished. Now they can finish the task against another ghost of the past; either the Cardinals (who beat the Sox in 7 games in the '46 and '67 Series) or the Astros (Clemens and Bagwell, the fish that got away). Icing on the cake: the Patriots can add to New York's suffering on Sunday against the Jets (both teams are currently undefeated). Welcome... to Bizarro World.

There are major differences both historical ( the national league was started in 1876 and the American in 1900 ) and in the style of play. The national league is defensive in nature while the American league is offesive. All the real hitters are in the American league. All the real weasels are in the National league ( which is composed of a bunch of real old players with not enough talent to play in the American league ). National League teams sneak out of town in the middle of the night ( Dodgers ) and all the r4eall great players are in the American league ( Ruth and Maris and Mantle and Whitey and Moose and .. wait those are all yankees :). :laugh: I just thought it was odd that you'd cheer for a team you dont like, simply because they're in a league you like. In the NHL, the style of play between the East and the West is rather significant, with mostly Western teams being faster paced and more aggresive with lots of energy and excitement, and the Eastern teams having a real snooze-style of play where you bore your opponents (and fans) to death. (Can you guess which division my favorite team is in? :-D ) But even then, I'd still wouldnt cheer for the Western team simply because they're in the West. Regardless, it shows you how hockey-starved I am, that's I'm watching baseball :-D ('cept the NYY-BOS series: I watch those whenever I can because they really do hate each other!)
