Presidential race decided

The outcome of Washington Redskins home football games has correctly predicted the winner of every U.S. presidential election since 1936. If this holds true to form for 2004, then John Kerry is president as Washington lost to Green Bay this afternoon. http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp[^] I didn't post this in the soapbox as it's more about an incredible coincedence than about politics. Sell American stocks. Sell short, if you must. We survived Clinton, we managed to recover from the damage done by Carter; even LBJ wasn't able to kill this country, despite his efforts. If the oracle proves to be true, we're in for a long, sad four years, but we'll survive it. Have faith - we'll be back, perhaps not so belligerently... But oracles have been known to be wrong. We can only hope. I'm voting for Snoopy... "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

Sounds like reverse psychology to me, in order to get votes for Bush! ;P Whoever wins, will it affect my life? :~ It normally takes a while for the ripples to popogate across the pond!! Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.

Yes, I am hoping that this "Redskins Rule" will be broken this year. Otherwise, we are in for higher taxes, more expensive socialist healthcare and APPEASEMENT foreign policy. That is the scariest thing of all...

that appeasement foreign policy that Clinton did and the rest of the world seems to love was a disaster for the US. If we go back to that, God help us.

I've read some books on investing in the stock market. Sorry to burst your bubble, but according to the numbers I've read, the stock market has historically done better under democratic presidents than republican ones. Don't ask me why this is true. It seems a bit counterintuitive since the Republicans are traditionally painted as corporate-friendly. Perhaps it's just a statistical anomoly. But, you'd have a pretty hard time justifying the view on historical data that you should sell American stocks if a Democrat is elected. ----------------------------------------------------- Empires Of Steel[^]

Generally that's true, but coupled with high taxes and major inflation and interest costs, the real gains are much lower. "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City
