My new employer was kind enough to purchase a Sony Vaio 17" widescreen laptop [^]for me when I started work for them. However, they didn't think to get a carry case at the same time and now I need one. Having scoured our preferred supplier's website I put in the purcahse requisition for a Dicota BacPac Jump[^] because another website I found somewhere else said that the 17" Apple Powerbook fits in it. In all fairness I don't have a Powerbook, I've got a 17" Vaio, but I figured they were about the same size. The bag arrived today and unfortunately, it's about an inch too short :( Can anyone reccomend a rucksack style carrycase for 17" laptops? Derek Lakin. Salamander Software Ltd. Nice! Checkout the Targus XL Backpack[^] It's supposed to fit most 17" systems.

This demographic will quite happily click on shiny things however:laugh:

Found on Bash.org [erno] hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.

Try eBags.com and search on a Toshiba A35 if Vaio isn't listed. Compufix

Derek, I picked up a Dell leather case (a real workhorse) in excellent condition for my widescreen laptop for $30 (shipping included) on EBay[^]. I think it's a great deal, especially since Staples sells a smaller, nylon one for $49. /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Articles | Freeware | Music ravib@ravib.com

Then it hits me; Where the sod is the power adaptor brick supposed to fit? Argh! Paul: Sales dude, take back this case and give me one that actually fits *everything* Salesman: *mutter* *mutter* *mutter* As for your question; I can lend you my 50l Karrimor pack if you want ;) regards, Paul Watson South Africa Michael Dunn wrote: "except the sod who voted this a 1, NO SOUP FOR YOU" Crikey! ain't life grand?

Looks like it's exactly what I need, but I can't find a UK reseller and Targus don't list it on their Europe online store :(( Derek Lakin. Salamander Software Ltd. The Add-in Zone blog: Digital Thoughts bliki: Derek's Bliki

I've got a dell leather case too. That thing is pretty awesome. Durable for sure. I actually bought mine from a co worker. I looked around a little bit and found a good selction at the Staples site and a couple other places, but this guy was selling his for REAL cheap.
