Congratulations to you and your husband, Megan. Parenthood is the most rewarding experience you can imagine. Every day will bring something new and different into your life. Stay healthy and upon the birth of your child, I will have to see about sending you a box of chocolates. ;) Chris Meech I am Canadian. Thanks Chris :) Would you believe I've completely gone off chocolate? I now dream of sour mini cocktail gherkins, lemons and dried apricots! Hopefully this madness isn't permanent!

As some of you may have noticed, I've been spouting off a lot less hot air than usual lately. The reason for this is simple - I'm pregnant, 12 weeks and 5 days in fact, for those of you who like exact data :), and it's a pretty exhausting experience. We had originally decided to wait until last Thursday, the 12 week mark, before telling anyone, but as our first scan was yesterday we decided to wait until after that. Seeing the baby in such detail (spine, heart pumping away, hands and finger bones, even the brain!) was amazing and it was fantastic to be told that everything is looking perfect. Anyway, as I consider many of you to be good friends it seemed only right to post here before sending emails out to my philistine friends who don't read CP :-D. At risk of babbling on and getting all mushy about how my baby is the biggest miracle of all time, I'll end off now though :-O [edit]If anyone's interested, there's a fuzzy picture of the scan here[^]. [/edit]

Congrats! And I didn't even have to do mental math to figure out where I was 12 weeks ago, either.;P Now that your hormones are all crazed, are you going to be sending Brendan out on late-night runs for food? (Thinking of the commercial where the guy isn't in a hurry to get up, and she grabs his crotch hard under the blanket.):laugh: There is no doubt when the first automobile race occurred. So far he's been lucky - I've only sent him out on weekend afternoons. I almost feel as if I'm denying him an integral part of the fathering experience. Perhaps I'll have to change my ways... :-D

We're definitely excited. The baby's room is all done (wallpaper up and furniture in). Just waiting on the little guy to get here. :) Brigg Thorp Senior Software Engineer Timex Corporation
