Well Nish, I like Microsoft .Net (can I consider it Microsoft?) and I like MS Word and the Visual Studio .Net, but I think Outlook is an unfinished poor product full of patches and IE is...well, I'm using Firefox, 'nuff said. So I think I'm in a love-hate relationship with Microsoft ;P Edbert P. Sydney, Australia.

I disagree with this completely. The nice thing about CodeProject is that the members speak their minds and noone lives in fear of receiving an email from MS. :wtf: You can expect to get an honest answer to your questions and some good straight-forward opinions here from ppl that actually know what they are talking about. OMG, I swear Outlook was developed and is maintained by fresh interns at MS. Next to VSS it is really one of their poorerst examples of, as you said, unfinished software. It is very powerful, and has been my mail reader (of corporate choice) for the last seven years, but some things just suck so badly. Like the auto-complete in the "To:" textbox. WTF does it auto-complete an address, and then tell you it can't find the address? I know, I know

yeah, same here - I'm beginning to love .NET, but mostly because of how much I hate MFC... I'm beginning to love Windows XP, mostly because of how much I hate Win9x, and the little niggling things in 2K that XP does better. So to sum it up - I hate Microsoft, but have to use their products, some of which are less bad than others -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Phoenix Paint - back from DPaint's ashes!

I'm tempted to vote it 1 just so there is more than one vote from those who don't love MS. Unfortunatly, even though I disagree with his message it doesn't deserve a 1 vote.

After writing an add-in for Outlook, I can't agree with you more. The "To:" problem that you mentioned was caused by discrepancies between the Offline Address Book and the Online Address Book (esp. in Cached mode). And the way the CommandBar works differently than any other Office (not to mention different behaviours of temporary and permanent buttons)...makes me feel like shooting myself on the foot X| Edbert P.
