I am a jogging guy, always enjoy myself running on the machine while watching the TV....that's really cool, after 2-3 miles each day for a while, you will find yourself in excellent shape. That kind of machine is really not so expensive nowadays, below 1000.... take care enjoy it !;P

Feeding your body also feeds your brain; if you don't stay in healthy balance, your brain will cease to operate at its full potential. That can cost you your cushy job, or at the least, limit your potential for advancement over the years. pc_dev wrote: physical stress, and overweight how u overcome that? Only one way works - physical activity. Calories consumed > calories burned -> fat. Exercise is also a very effective method of relieving stress. It doesn't have to be lifting weights, or jogging, or anything else you may find dull. Anything that elevates your heart rate, increases your respiration rate, and causes you to exert yourself for an extended period of time will do nicely. Find something vigorous and fun to do, then do it regularly. You'll live a lot longer, have more energy, be able to think more clearly, and not be burdened with dragging around excess weight that does you no good. Start young and make a lifelong habit of it!:-D "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

I agree there. I have been very very bad about exercise lately, and with my frame I'm not in the least worried about weight control (and at 35 the great promised metabolic slowdown isn't going to happen), but have resolved to begin exercising for the mental and cardiac benefits. A healthy amount of fruit and fibre mixed with some fun exercise 3-5 times a week goes a long way towards making one feel better. Swimming is a great way to get into exercise as the water bears your weight as you go.

Lots. For most of my life I was overweight. By 2001, when I reached 14st (196 lbs) I decided enough was enough and crash dieted down to 10st (140lbs) by the following year. I've stayed in that vicinity since (I was 136.8 lbs this morning... :) ). For me the key was to get into a routine of weighing myself under the same conditions (i.e. always without clothes, and after visiting the loo but before eating or drinking anything) every day, and just being sensible about what I ate. When you see what effect the previous day's meals have on your weight the following morning you soon develop an insight into what your body can handle without putting on weight. Also, if you do splurge out on a takeaway or whatever the scales act as a visible reminder to ease off for the next few days. Personally I avoid sugar and salt in foods, as well as anything obviously high in fat. Beth and I actually try to stick to a protein and slow release carbohydrate diet (lots of pulses, beans and broccolli *), which we've found to be very good for increasing the energy we have while keeping weight down. Basically do everything in moderation, and keep an eye on how your body reacts. * Chick Peas are your friends. Honest. just asking; jogging while watching the TV, is as effective as jogging in a park? lot of fresh air intake is needed while jogging.

Try cycling to work, I do a 5 mile round trip, the only problem is I work in london, so without a face mask (yet) it feels like my throat has been cut. I have done it for a week and a bit, and it is a very good way to wake you up in the morning and it has made me feel a much better, but thats probably because I am now missing the underground out. Short of that, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, dont snack (too much), stay away from sugary drinks (coke, tea with sugar etc...), dont eat straight before you go to bed, eat directly after excercise, and if you can, go to the gym in the morning instead of in the evening because it screws your sleep up. If you can stick to that, you will do very well - because I certainly can't :) James Simpson Web Developer imebgo@hotmail.com P S - This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated

To control my weight I joined a gym at the start of the year. I have lost 23lbs or about 11Kg in weight so far. Thats just over 1.5 stones. Still have about 1 stone to go but it is a lifestyle change that is necessary and excersise seems to be the only way. Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.

I have added in a weights program and my cardio routine is improving (I just had them up the effort level on many of the exercises on the electronic key I have that sets up the machines to my program). As for the weight - It is static. I haven't changed since I last blogged about it[^] How is everything with you? How is your bump getting along? From your last post, you sound quite excited.
