Plain and simple. Either that or cut down on the carbohydrates that you are taking into your body. If you are taking in carbohydrates and not using them, which happens to a lot of use programmers because we spend a lot of time sitting and not moving much, then the carbohydrates essentially* get stored as fat. Hence, you get overweight. The easiest way to prevent it from continuing is to exercise. Small amounts of exercies will be enough. To remove any fat that has already become lodged then more amounts of exercise will be necessary. * I'm saying essentially because I lknow it is more complicated then that but the easiest way to think of it is that they get stored as fat Regards, Brian Dela :-) Now Bloging![^]

Suzanne Boyle wrote: Only problem with swimming is you need to wear a swimming costume for it Better than not wearing one ;P Facetious answers aside, this is a big downside I agree. Fortunately not too many people tend to enjoy swimming even in heated indoor pools at 7:30am in the English winter! Soon wearing a swimming costume will simply be another way to show off my bump though - grow little one grow!!! :-D

To control my weight I joined a gym at the start of the year. I have lost 23lbs or about 11Kg in weight so far. Thats just over 1.5 stones. Still have about 1 stone to go but it is a lifestyle change that is necessary and excersise seems to be the only way. Ant. I'm hard, yet soft.
            I'm coloured, yet clear.
            I'm fruity and sweet.
I'm jelly, what am I? Muse on it further, I shall return!

just asking; jogging while watching the TV, is as effective as jogging in a park? lot of fresh air intake is needed while jogging.

sure, not so effective as in a park, but sometimes esp for me, time and weather are not permitting me to do it in the park, when I come back from office, it is dark..... on those cold wet winter nights, how to do outdoors? .... just a option, not perfect, but better than have no workout, right, pal? ;)

Like others have said, exercise helps alot. I just wanted to add that I cut down the amount that I exercised for a while because I typically had trouble maintaining concentration after I excercised. After I read a few sports nutrition books, I realized I wasn't getting enough short term energy while I exercised and started loading up on carbs before and after every workout. That had a tremendous effect and I exercise much more frequently now. The best thing is that I have more stamina for just about everything I do and I sleep much better as well.
