Is it just me

I got to CP quite early, and the site was soon revolutionary at that time in how well it worked. However since then the rest of the WEB has caught up and I think passed CP. Maybe Chris et al never expected CP to grow this big and have the scalability problems that to me it seems to have. I have heard rumours that the whole place will be moved to .NET, and I wonder if Chris etc think it is just around the corner and for that reason don't use another approach. Making CP into an open source project will in no way affect the product/service offerred, and I see no reason to change anything. Generally when i need CP, i open it, then i switch back to MSDN for a couple min, then back to CP and click a link, then back to MSDN, rinse and repeat... my suggestion for some sort of open source project would not be a silver bullet by any means. If it's the CA network causing slow times, then obviously finding a new host would be another upgrade. I was more curious as to what other people thought of the idea more than anything.
