How do keywords work?
-
First, I'm loving the CodeProject. It's just so cool! Second, I've submitted two articles, one via e-mail, one via the Wizard. The Wizard-based article was editable for a few hours, then it reverted back "Get Article HTML" as the only edit option. Is this correct? It's really nice to be able to submit changes via the wizard. Finally: Keywords. When I search using the keywords specified on the articles, the articles are not found by the search engine. For both articles I entered keywords like this: C#, Beck, Test, QA Any idea what's wrong? Thanks! Tom Ollar blix: more native than native

If you submit using the Wizard and one of our editors edits and moves the article then you can no longer edit it directly - you need to use the 'Get HTML' to make changes and then submit them to us. The allows us to ensure a level of formatting is maintained on the articles. With the search, have you tried searching using the article's title or using words that occur in the article? We're using SQL Server's text indexing for article searches and this is based only on the article content (keywords are used internally to help with article categorization) cheers, Chris Maunder

Hi Chris, First, thanks for such excellent service. CP is truly awesome!!! The keyword thing thing makes sense now. I've also tried the article title and words in the article - no luck. Ah well, just have to throw more articles in the hopper and eventually I'm sure some of them will start showing up... :-D cheers, Tom Ollar blix: more native than native
