VPN - XP Pro ??

In my home desktop PC (Windows XP Pro), I coudn't create VPN connection. I did the following steps: Control Panel - > "Network and Connections" -> "Create new New Connection" -> "Next" -> "Connect to the network at my workplace" -> "Next" This is the dialog picture : Image[^] At this point it's displayed "Virtual Private Network connection" and "Dialup Connection" options in the dialog. But surprise is both radio buttons are disabled. :mad: But the "Next" button is enabled. :confused: I got Cable modem connection and logged in as Admin. Any VPN experts here?

Your modem drivers are probably not installed, so it won't let you create a dial-up connection and since the only other option is a VPN connection, it's selected it for you by default and then disabled the control so you won't try and change the options. I'd hit Next and see what happens. Good luck :-) Nish

I remember having a problem like this before and it was some seemingly unrelated connection option that I disabled. Once I renabled it, then I could setup the VPN. Try checking the connection sharing settings and then removing the connection and setting it up again with all the default settings?

Most likely you have disabled the 'Remote Access Control Manager' service? Control Panel->Admin->Services

Check with your IT department at work to see what the requirements are. Most places I've been at use Nortel's VPN solution and require that you install their VPN client on your machine.
