With all due respect. I have never in my life, seen a web site that functions as abysmally as this one. I am seeing transfer rates of around 3.0 KB/sec, or less than a 56Kbps modem. What is the problem? Doesn't the revenue from advertising displayed make it possible to have a site that works?
tonyt wrote: I am seeing transfer rates of around 3.0 KB/sec, or less than a 56Kbps modem. There's a lot of 'plumbing' between your endpoint and CP. Any attempt to determine where the bottleneck is? Or is complaining just that much easier? Chris Meech I am Canadian. The site is currently fairly responsive from over here. I've seen faster sites, and I've seen slower. With all due respect: I am writing free articles in my spare time, and I am confident they are valuable. All I expect as compensation from you is: a little patience. If you don't have the patience, you can help the site handle it's load by visiting the Codeproject Store[^]. Thank you.

Worth1000 has one of the funniest naughty word replacemens lists I've ever seen. Small warning: the page contains all the original naughty words and some of the replacements aren't exactly politically correct. Charlie if(!curlies){ return; }

You're entitled to your opinion, so fair enough. But, if you feel that you can do better than do so, if not then whining will do nothing constructive. Also, be grateful for the resource you have, creating an extremely popular website is not an easy thing to do. Jeremy Falcon

I don't think it was a troll post. He didn't say anything derogatory about CP itself - he was complaining about the speed of the site. I don't know whether all those of you who chose to flame him immediately are just in denial or whether you are somehow privvy to some faster plumbing than he is (or I am) but I'm plagued with the same abyssmal performance on CP too. (and that when every other site I visit is pushing the envelope of my broadband connection) Maybe a simple explantion instead of knee-jerk flame-fest on anyone with the audacity to point out a very real problem (for some) with your beloved neighborhood would have been more appropriate. Alvaro Mendez wrote: So is he expressing his opinion or whining? No, you're confused. He's not expressing an opinion on whining; he's whining while expressing an opinion on the site. Alvaro Mendez wrote: Should anyone ever complain about anything or should they keep their mouths shut and "do it better". Constructive criticism and complaining/whining are two different things. And, they can't do it better, then they really have no reason to whine. Alvaro Mendez wrote: Is this site ever slow to you or do you not even notice it because you're busy being grateful. It does get slow at times, and yet we keep on coming back. Why is that? Because we know CP is a valuable resource. It's valuable enough for us to overlook the slow times. If you don't appreciate it, then why are you here? Jeremy Falcon
