CNet.com is running a nice series of "vision" articles on IT Industry leaders. Admitedly these are not development guys, but rather the managers and CEOs you all love to hate. However the info is still interesting and useful. Have a look and tell me what you think. Are all their "plans and visions" nothing more than just hot air? Or do these guys actually shape our industry, drive us forward and show us what success is all about? > more than just hot air? Ey! Is hot air a usual english expression? I'm from austria and in german we say "heiße Luft", which is word-by-word translated "hot air" with the same meaning. I'm wondering about this, because a phrase often heard in german is "I sog das, spü di jo net!", but the word-by-word translation to english gives "I say you, play you yes not" and I think this sentence wouldn't make much sense! Don't ask me if I'm crazy, I swear, I AM! mfg HintiFlo ;)

Sometimes I think the surest sign for intelligent life elsewhere in the universe is that none of them ever tried to contact us.

I think that most of them are out of touch with the actual industry and don't really have a clue what's going on. They throw around buzz words and phrases to make themselves look knowledgeable when they probably know as much about IT as a fifth grader.

Not saying you are wrong or right, but who then do you reckon should be running these companies? IMHO not all of those 13 leaders could have stumbled across their positions by pure luck or chance. There must have been something else to them to reach such a position of influence. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa "The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love, and be loved in return" - Moulin Rouge Martin Marvinski wrote: Unfortunatly Deep Throat isn't my cup of tea Do you Sonork?
