I found this earlier, too. I can see my pool, tool shed, horse barn, and new driveway. Wow!

I was home when the picture of my house was taken. I can see my truck sitting sideways at the end of my driveway. My garage was full of boxes from moving in, so no room for the truck. We also can't block the sidewalk with a vehicle around here. Kind of creepy that someone is taking your picture with you knowing about it. Naw, AFB images are what I got in trouble for before. They should all be cleared now. Most are clearly visible from nearby mountains or public airspace. Groom lake is the appropriate 30m or 15m Landsat. (area 51) You can "buy" or take your own photos of Groom lake legally, but you cannot display them to others. Which is why Terra server had to take off a few locations, as will probably Google when they are found. Yucca Flats, though I disagree with its classification is still treated the same as Groom Lake facility. But Yucca flats you will find SW of Groom Lake facility. The place that looks like the moon. After 800 underground nuclear tests and an excess of 50 above ground nuclear tests, the place is unliveable, so very easy to secure. If you get in, if you make it out you won't last long. Still, last I checked it was on the restricted image list. But I don't know who to tell, so Google can keep it for a while. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Sand+Spring+Valley,Rachel&ll=37.125378,-116.069183&spn=0.114498,0.131836&t=k&hl=en[^] _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. By request of those who know very little of technology.... When I first started doing 3D graphics back in the mid 90's, as a US based contractor for a US based govt. entity we could not purchase imagery for the test range. So one of our vendors we contacted for imagery had a great idea. The wall had fallen, Russia needs money. And the satellites never "fell out of the sky" when the wall came down.... So, we paid the workers of a Russian Satellite imagery site to take photos of a US location, and hand over the film to us. With a commercial satellite imagery firm as the middle man. Our second set of imagery was from France, go figure. Finally the US agencies started relaxing realizing that all they were doing was sending the money elsewhere. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. This is off-topic. What is your view on OpenGL and the new DirectX offering for a 3D terrain project? Best regards, Paul. Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

MapQuest used to have this feature (although not as cool), but it disappeared a year ago or more now. Don't know why. Marc MyXaml Advanced Unit Testing YAPO

I run strictly OpenGL, mostly because I came from the old Unix Silicon Graphics systems. I must have missed the news on the new 3D terrain project. Is it based on the MS floating point compression algorithm with digital terrain (geoclipmaps) from last year's Siggraph? I have been... indisposed for near a year. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. (Japanese Proverb)
