VS.NET 2005 beta 2

The beta 2 was delayed by one or two weeks. Last I have heard it was coming in Mid April. In any case it appears that it will be out soon :o) Pz

What puzzles me is how anyone can be puzzled about a Microsoft product not coming out in time

The distinct advantage of pessimism is that you can only be joyously surprised when things turn out better than you expected. Therefore complete pessimism is the true path to happiness in life. ;) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Someone please enlighten me. I have an ISO file sitting on my hard drive with a datestamp of March 15 that I downloaded from the MSDN site. "en_vs_2005_CTP_feb05_dvd.iso". Roughly 3.5GB. In fact I still see it in MSDN Downloads...date posted is 3/3/2005. The shortcut it creates is labeled "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2". Even if the latest "beta 2" isn't the same as what I have...why's everybody so anxious to get a build of a compiler that's hardly 6 weeks newer?

That's not beta 2, it's an "interim release" that is more or less a snapshot at a given time. There isn't as much effort to make sure everything works right with a CTP as an official beta. Also, the feb CTP is of the Pro version, not the Team System edition, which has all the nifty testing and life cycle tools. -- Where are we going? And why am I in this handbasket?
