Hi there, I've just put myself a new PC together: Athlon XP 3200+, 512 RAM, 2 HDD's, GForce 5200, Microsoft Natural MM Keyboard (very  ) Everything works fine except I haven't really got the feeling that the PC is much faster then my last (which was about 3 years old). Is there a way to figure out if my system runs at its optimum? Actually, there are a couple of odd things I've recognized: When starting the ever-so-beloved pinball, the system seems to freeze for some time, and when hitting the bumper keys there is a ~ 1 second delay, meaning, you just can't play it. Does anyone know of a simple tool to measure performance? Besides that, I bought an Arctic Cooling Case[^], which is the bust thing I've ever done! /matthias

You definitely have a problem! Check for resource conflicts, especially regarding the video card. Also, check the video card manufacturer's website for an updated driver and install it if there is one. "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

Why did you skimp on the RAM? Anything less than a gig is a mistake, especially when running apps like Visual Studio. I'd put in another 512 and be very, very happy.
