How much is the normal salary for a Developer with 1+ year of exp dealing with .Net
OK, I just checked out your bio and found out you're in Madras. My guess is Rs. 300,000 - 350,000 with a big/medium sized company and maybe Rs. 200,000 - 250,000 if you're in a smaller company. Hmm.... where is your company located in Madras? Mind telling me how much you're making? :) PS: In future, tell people in your original post where you are from - few people will bother to check your bio and give a reply. --> Friendly advice from a regular. :) Vikram.

There is no such thing as a normal salary. Two equally-skilled people can get hired at the same company and have vastly different salaries. The difference lies within how much each bargained for, and what they can actually do with the tool(s). "Dealing" with a tool for a year is not the same as actually solving problems with it.

I agree, also factor in regional differences in both cost of living and more importantly... the attitudes and importance of that position in that region. If you can move to an area where demand is high, but availability to fill positions are low you can make more in ratio to cost of living (usually). but you hit the big one... when all other factors have been removed, same company, two people can still earn different $$. Part of that bargaining is whether or not the company had to coax the person from another company (or competitor) and the wage the person was working at that company. One year is not always long to set a reputation, but it can be long enough for the right person. tossing around $$ absolutes doesn't get you far.... _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau.
