I'm moving into my busiest season where all I do is cut code all day and most of the night. My one repreive is music. However my musical memory and all that is pretty tapped out and I'm looking for new music or reminders of music I love but forgot about so I can go buy it online. So compose a reply for me that lists as many of your favorite bands/albums/etc as you like. Try to restrict the list to *ALL TIME* favorites. I don't want music you are sort of into I want to know what you'd consider to be the cream of your collection. I'm hoping I can discover some new cool music from this and also be reminded of other music I love. EXCEPTIONS: Country Music INCLUSIONS: Pretty much everything else from classical, digital, rap, Manaheim Steamroller, Heavey Metal, punk, hip-hop, if it isn't country then I'll probably listen to it. If it's country I'll throw it under my car tires on a wintery day as I back out of my drive way.;P {EVERYONE}Please don't make comments on what some people like as music. I want to encourage sharing not discourage it.{/EVERYONE} MUSIC I'VE ENJOYED: 4 Non Blonde Iron Maiden Grateful Dead Loreena McKennit Credence Clearwater Revival The Cardigans The Cranberries Smashmouth Creed Pearl Jam No Doubt Almost All Heavy Metal Led Zeppelin Dave Matthews Bare Nake Ladies I'm listing these to show you my preferences but I don't even know the good albums by some the artists I've mentioned.

:-D Glad I could be of service. Yeah...Phantom Planet is pretty dang sweet. My favorite album of thiers is The Guest, but the other two are good as well. One of the major benefits of being into Indie/Alternative music is that you can introduce friends to cool, lesser-known artists and you can say you were listening to the cool music before everybody else was. For instance, I got Hot Fuss, by the Killers, the day it came out on June 15th, 2004. That was over a year ago. And the radio is just now getting around to playing something other than Mr. Brightside or Somebody Told Me. So it's funny when my friends come up to me now and tell me that the Killers are awesome...and I remind them that I attempted to get them to listen to the CD last year, but they refused.

Well I guess it depends on your age as well as location. Some of them are pretty famous: Joe Pass: Barney Kessel: Jazz guitarists. Simply Fabulous. Joe Pass is , IMNSHO , the finest jazz guitar player of all time. You must have heard of Chet Atkins before. Lionel Hampton: Legend on the vibes. If you have never heard him you owe it to yourself to give a listen. His version of "Body and Soul" will raise the hair on your arms. Tony Rice: Another multi facted guitarist. Plays solo stuff, jazz, bluegrass. Acoustic based - not electric. The CD's with he and Norman Blake are things of wonder. His "River Suite With Two Guitars" with John Carlinni very seldom gets very far from my player. Willis Alan Ramsey: You may never have heard of old Willis. He had one (1) release back in the 70's. But it was so good and so original that it is still famous. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000JKG2/qid=1126042186/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-6847961-4261633?v=glance&s=music[^] Ry Cooder: Well he is kinda hard to explain. I have a friend just like you (except she is a she) and it can be difficult talking music with her because my excited "oooh ooh been listening to White Stripes recently and they are so amazing!" emails are icily replied to with "I've had their first albums since like the 20s and you are such a sheep only liking them now that they are getting airplay." I end up feeling like a Britney loving wally. But thats ok. Another music service I can't hope to use. iTunes, Rhapsody, Pandora etc. etc. etc. No one has music agreements that cover the world. Remind me to get my green card so that I can join the new century when it comes to music. regards, Paul Watson South Africa Colib and WebTwoZero. hehe nice one. Apart from the Flash interface I like their attitude, seems like they had fun making the system and aim to keep it fun. regards, Paul Watson South Africa Colib and WebTwoZero. Yeah. I also like the fact that I've heard lots of B-Sides and lesser played tracks as well. Nice way to not focus heavily on the singles.

Oh I know the general reply that I will get (same as I got for iTunes and all the others I emailed. I emailed them, begged them, offered my first born to them.) "Dear Mr Watson, We appreciate you taking the time to contact us and the interest you have in our service. Unfortunatley we do not plan on offering our service in your country at this point in time. If this changes we will notify you. regards, Slicksales Dudewithfakesmile." It is not their fault... much... they are handcuffed by the RIAA and co. They have to pen new agreements for every country they want to support. Michael Dunn mentioned this when Napster 2.0 was being announced. It is why something totally alien to the web (the notion of countries) is being followed for iTunes and co. I mean really, iTunes has to have different stores for each country even though it is a world wide web service. Bollocks! regards, Paul Watson South Africa Colib and WebTwoZero.

Metallica - Master of Puppets. Best metal album, ever. If you like 80's glam metal, then Gotthard - Lipservice ( new album ) is a MUST. I've been listening to it non stop. Another great band of recent years in Masterplan - both albums took a while to grow on me, but I go back to them often. I've been getting into a lot of early Dio recently, and early Black Sabbath as well. Bruce Dickinson's latest solo album is pretty cool I've also really got into Anthrax since seeing them live - all Anthrax albums are killer !! Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++
