Scary stuff

There is a tech news section at the bottom right of the homepage but it's not stored (it's just a feed). I guess if this stuff was saved and organised for general browsing then that would be more helpful. cheers, Chris Maunder
I never noticed the tech section before. I just checked out the DelOtto Systems link...It's not working. :) "An expert is someone who has made all the mistakes in his or her field" - Niels Bohr

This is true, but I seen Chris posted a message and I figured maybe my suggestion would have more impact because it would be directly related to the thread. "An expert is someone who has made all the mistakes in his or her field" - Niels Bohr

:omg: So never use an IM..It is better to use Sonork or any other IM which is not much used / abused. But IM's were always insecure due to their inherent model. See the number of exploits which can be done on ICQ. As for IE / ActiveX .. have to patch up... Thanks.. Atul Sonork 100.13714 netdiva

The international olympic feds or whatever they are wouldn't let us play pro, when we had all our GOD players in their prime. Gretzky, Lemieux, Roy...these guys are legends now!! Lemieux is old and has rebounded from Cancer(Hodkins disease) and crazy injuries. the other 2 aren't even playing this year. Yeah Canada should have won in Nagano...and they should/might win this year...if not...give it a while...guys like Gretz, Super Mario...they only happen once every so often...kinda Ironic in the ealry 80's to mid 90's was when Canada seemed to produce un-natural talent!!! As far as Canada not beating Sweden...wait...we'll see what happend with Germany...if they loose that it's all over...if they win...it'll be good experience on Oly ice and good ego boost... I do not think that it is a virus. The AV programs are mistaking it for the JS.Menger.Worm. I looked at the code. It seems harmless. They talk about the worm in this note. http://tom.me.uk/msn/ Regards, Suresh

You know what pisses me off... 1. It took MS 54 days to fix this problem. 2. Idiots like this Tom provide sample code so that script kiddies can produce worms like "JS.Menger.Worm". People like Tom are just as responsible as the script kiddies. Tim Smith Descartes Systems Sciences, Inc.

One ActiveX script can gain full control of your MSN Messenger? Bloody hell, that's frightening. It's a good job I have never trusted MSN for intimate conversations. For beginners to the Internet, it could be very scary. Simon It's one for you, nineteen for me Sonork ID 100.10024
Although it's been some time since I wrote one, I found it particularly scary to realize that when you write an ActiveX control, you have access to the entire Windows API. In other words, the minute someone loads your control, they've just given you the keys to the castle and their box is more or less yours for the taking, file system & all. Needless to say, I have some rather restrictive defaults set on the loading of ActiveX controls...
