Does anyone have any good or bad opinions about 1&1.com[^]?  I'm thinking of switching to a web host who offers ASP.Net support. /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Music | Articles | Freeware | Trips ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

My account has been with 1and1 since they started. I only use them for email, but they have been reliable... nothing bad to say, nothing outstanding. C. Gilley Will program for food... My son's PDA is an M249 SAW.

I've been using 1&1 for a couple of years, first as a shared hosting package and now as a dedicated server hosting. I've never had any problems so I've never had to use their support services, which I've heard can be a little lacking. Michael CP Blog [^] Development Blog [^]

Thanks, Michael. I assume I'd need to go the dedicated server route in order to be able to use my own (home brewed) .Net components? /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Music | Articles | Freeware | Trips ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

I was with 1&1 in the UK and have moved to www.brinkster.com due to lack of service and poor communication. Happy with brinkster (so far). www.merrens.com

Their tech support is terrible. Their control panel is primitive compared to GoDaddy.com and their email forwarding sometimes disappears for no reason. If you do call tech support, don't follow their advice and never, ever let them make changes for you.
