I thought out two answers: 1. To have fun 2. To get knowledge (usually in programming) I like the first. But at the same time I do the second. Isn't programming the best thing in the world? Niklas Ulvinge aka IDK

I thought code without purpose is what VB coders wrote... (Yup. I just made a disparaging VB joke. Pigs do fly.) regards, Paul Watson South Africa Colib and WebTwoZero. K(arl) wrote: oh, and BTW, CHRISTIAN ISN'T A PARADOX, HE IS A TASMANIAN!

Paul Watson wrote: I thought code without purpose is what VB coders wrote... That was a corallary to my post, but for the sake of brevity and the "ba-da-boom" reaction, I decided to leave it off, knowing that someone else would come up with it. But who knew, it would be you? :-D Marc My website Traceract Understanding Simple Data Binding Diary Of A CEO - Preface

It's helps keep VB programmers occupied, searching for deep meanings... "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

Not really deep - just a run-of-the-mill paradox. There is of course no such thing. Not "no such thing" as "code that doesn't have a purpose" we've all seen plenty of that, but "no such thing" as "the purpose of code that doesn't have a purpose" Steve T

to become self-aware through the musings of programmers who wonder why it's there LOL
