Add A Feed is hosed. All I can do is preview and cancel. How do I add the feed that I just entered? Rather crappy usability, IMO. Marc My website Traceract Understanding Simple Data Binding Diary Of A CEO - Preface

Chose the first hit, later clicked 'Subscribe' button. That's it. I entered 10 sites and it found all the RSS feeds in them. Marc Clifton wrote: Rather crappy usability, IMO. It's beta ;)

You have been on a bender lately. ;P Most of your replies have been a bit tart. (This is banter by the way. Purely meant to be friendly.) Like most things google does they release a very basic set of features that meets the baseline set of requirements. I'm not always impressed with things myself. But I do enjoy the fact I don't have to go to the MSDN newsgroups to figure out how to find the one method I want to use in an application that came bundled in version 1.0 with 15,000 tools compatible with every word processor ever written. I'll be curious to see what they do with this. I prefer a thin desktop based news reader myself and right now OMEA 2.0 Pro is about the best thing I can find. - Rex

Lack of sleep, I think, coupled with three days so far of rain. code-frog wrote: I'll be curious to see what they do with this. Me too. It's really a bit raw though, even for google. I was getting lots if javascript errors, page not found errors, and obviously missing buttons. I don't use feed readers for the simple reason that I want to organize my feed reader with more than one level in the hierarchy, I'd like to cross-reference, automatic keyword search highlighting and automatic rejection (marked read) based on keywords, and other things. I have to to see a reader do the things that I'd like it to do. The trick is, managing the glut of information. Displaying it is easy. They don't actually improve the experience by helping you manage the sheer influx of information. That's pretty much why I just hang out here and once-over most of the posts. Anything that is worth knowing usually gets mentioned here and that will have to do for me, for now at least... - Rex

Google always releases the baseline product and then enhances it from users feedback (ex: via Google Reader Group[^] ) I use RSS Feeder .Net[^] desktop based RSS reader which has Outlook integration.

Tried FeedDemon yet? I absolutely love it.

Picture a huge catholic cathedral. In it there's many people, including a gregorian monk choir. You know, those who sing beautifully. Then they start singing, in latin, as they always do: "Ad hominem..." -Jörgen Sigvardsson

Yuck - it won't handle <pre> tag blocks correctly - shows everything in one long line and causes IE to scroll horizontally.

To me, the user interface stinks. Adding individual feeds is too much work. I guess if a person will only use the "search" feature to subscribe, but not for me. Rocky <>< Latest Post: Cool ASP.NET 2.0 feature! Blog: www.RockyMoore.com/TheCoder/[^]
