What are you doing this weekend? :) I have to come to office tomorrow for .net training. As for Sunday, I'll stay at home and get some repairs done. I will also try to read three parodies that I was able to persuade a friend to borrow from a library and lend me - The Va Dinci Cod, The McAtrix Derided and Star Warped. I'm halfway through the first, and it's had me guffawing. :) Cheers, Vikram.

Have to finish building the last panel of the fence running across the front of my house. Then I have to paint the new siding I just installed (and a bunch of "old" siding that I never painted last year). Let's see ... finish cutting up the pine trees I fell two weeks ago that I couldn't log the past 2 week-ends because of rain. I also have to paint the door jam set for my daughters room because I have a 6 panel bi-fold closet door due to arrive in another week. Maybe I should have just said "home construction projects" ... I don't even know the big who-to-do about it. Everyone tells me I should read it, but when I read I like to read something truly entertaining and far away from work. I read enough tech stuff at work and after work for work, that if I pick up a book of my own, it is deep into fantasy or sci-fi. re-reading an old favorite, the Diana Tregarde series from Mercedes Lackey. It's been over a decade since the last. :) _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Talk about things of tomorrow and the mice in the ceiling laugh. (Japanese Proverb)

Sounds a little action-oriented to me; I prefer watching the cracks in my sidewalk get bigger.

I totally agree with you. Besides programming, reading is my life. I am big fan of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. I have the all of The Wheel of Time, Tolkien's Books, Redwall Series, Sword of Truth in hard back. I have more books than this just can't list them all. Generally, I read all my books each year and pick up one or two new series each year. Luckily, I don't have any kids or activities outside of work other than working out and church to take up my reading time. Brett A. Whittington Application Developer

Well let me be the solitary voice telling you not to waste your time on it. I supppose the story is moderately entertaining overall but the plot devices are contrived and pretty pathetic. (Spoiler) I very early realized I was in for a disapointment when the protagonists took about 4 chapters to realize that part of a "coded" message from the dead victim was an obvious anagram (considering the location of the crime scene at which it was found) that I solved in a minute or so before turning the page on which it appeared. Now I admit I'm a bit of a crossword enthusiast but the protagonists were supposed to be a world famous author/symbologist and a Paris Police cryptologist! D'oh! Steve T
