Aljazeera would have certainly been one of my first targets. But, then, so would the New York Times, and a cruise missile or two into BBC's headquarters would probably have been good for a few laughs... "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

They shot themselves in the foot with the fake pictures scandal (where they printed pictures allegedly showing British troops pissing on Iraqi POWs which turned out to be staged in the back of a Land Rover here in Britain). They lost a lot of credibility - which was unfortunate as they were the only anti-war tabloid, and I think it is important to have some balance, no matter what your opinion of the Iraw "situation". Piers Morgan (then editor) was a very lucid and intelligent mouthpiece for the anti-war movement and he went and dropped the ball big time.

True, and I think Aljazeera's official stance as of now is no comment. Then again the stance they took on the targeting of their offices is we want an investigation/explanation. Though this does seem to fit a certain pattern wrt Aljazeera.[^] Quran Translation Intro Discover -- modified at 13:59 Tuesday 22nd November, 2005

Yeah, I used to feel bad about that before the pandemic of Bushophobia! "Patriotism is the first refuge of a patriot."

Aljazeera and the New York Times certainly do not let facts get in the way of their agenda.
