Superb blog isn't it, only found it the other day from a reference on the old new thing. Makes me feel way guilty for the crappy bit of interface I am having to churn out at the moment. Oh for half decent layout logic in windows.forms. My prefered RSS reader is newsgator, it integrates with Outlook, if you like that kind of thing. Ryan

Hey, you and me both :-) We've spoken to a few other companies but nothing came out of it. And as much as we want to do it, we just wouldn't be able to get enough return to warrant building a web interface ourselves, nor do we even have the resources to do it right now. What we'd really like to do right now is to hook up with somebody on the publishing side so that we could offer a complete solution: them for publishing content and Awasu for consuming it. As you've said several times, Awasu is not just another run-of-the-mill blog reader. We're focusing more on the heavy-duty personal knowledge management side of RSS rather than casual reading of news. In this arena, a web interface is less important.

It's not the correctnes of the position, but what you have to do to achieve it: here[^] I'm at step 6, and flanked the further issues by storing a relative position (it's hard to be pixel-exact *and* relative *and* always correct, but it can be done)

NewsGator has a great integrations/synchronization story.

I personally love using FeedDemon....and it integrates with the NewsGator online reader (which sucks, yes) and a slieu of other clients...including RSS Bandit, now that Dare has NewsGator integration working.

Try BlogBridge if you have Java on your system. The interface is a little different than the normal RSS reader (which I like), and best of all, it has a recommendation mechanism to search feeds for other blogs/articles which interest you. It is also especially good if you have a restrictive IT department. Since it's a Java Web Start app, it doesn't require Admin priviledges to install on your system. Brandon

Yup, Newsgator are the leaders in this and we are watching them closely. However their web-client offering is poor and really without competition they aren't pushing what can be done with RSS. I second Shog's sage recommendation. I like the browser integration better then a stand alone or email integrated viewer. The dedicated side bar works better for me then the active bookmarks thing.

"Help is for cowards" Interesting article indeed. We particulary struggle with the sheer amount of the manual - as we have to share a lot of information beyond merely using the software.
