I wish it was 2007, so I could read more of this blog[^]. UI design observations - not the pretentious Jakob Nielsen way, but "human readable". In only five month he covered a lot of my favorites: the confusing layout of W2K/XP wizards, the road of preserving window position down to the yota (a thing I thought was a personal obsession) Installshields crappy end user experience and a reference to "Brazil" (ok, that's what hooked me). So yes, I finally bite. Someone who can recommend a good RSS reader for a suspicous-of-anything-new* guy like me? *) there's a fancy new word for that, but you know...

Try BlogBridge if you have Java on your system. The interface is a little different than the normal RSS reader (which I like), and best of all, it has a recommendation mechanism to search feeds for other blogs/articles which interest you. It is also especially good if you have a restrictive IT department. Since it's a Java Web Start app, it doesn't require Admin priviledges to install on your system. Brandon

NewsGator has a great integrations/synchronization story.

I personally love using FeedDemon....and it integrates with the NewsGator online reader (which sucks, yes) and a slieu of other clients...including RSS Bandit, now that Dare has NewsGator integration working.

I second Shog's sage recommendation. I like the browser integration better then a stand alone or email integrated viewer. The dedicated side bar works better for me then the active bookmarks thing.

Stumbling around there following your link I came across an interesting blog entry: Help is for experts[^] Very interesting if you have ever had to supply manuals and help with your product.

"Help is for cowards" Interesting article indeed. We particulary struggle with the sheer amount of the manual - as we have to share a lot of information beyond merely using the software.

Ah OK - I now imported it using "New channel..." What I tried first (without success) was: (1) Expect that AWASU would grab the extension (but I guess you can't because you get a temporary local file as argument) (2) paste the URL into the browser window (3) paste the parent page url, and click on the link, or the blinking "FEED" button
