When DVD was new, and when I returned my first rented DVD, I told the clerk jokingly that I had forgotten to rewind it, and asked if it was ok. She was about to give charge me a small fine, as she suddenly looked up at me from the cash register and smiled. I would not have mind* paying the fine (about 75 US cents) :) * What is past tense of "to mind"? :~ -- Pictures[^] from my Japan trip.

That's so mean! How can people be so inconsiderate? Rental stores should have their own DVD re-winders instead of asking poor customers to do the rewinding on their own. Don't go there again, Chris - they are nasty folks!

That's because you wouldn't say "i would not have minded" in a normal conversation... You'd say "i wouldna minded". :^)

Mmm, yes. Colloquial English, now there's a challenge. It's not very hard to pick up phrases here and there. The big problem is to apply it at the right time, with the right tone of voice, otherwise it sounds just wrong. But I suppose that's the case with any non-native language. Hey, I just discovered a little bug in the CPHog script. For some reason, quick modify doesn't work for me. It says the modifications were sent, but when I refresh, no modifications were done. -- Pictures[^] from my Japan trip.

In fact, I had the same problem a couple of days back. I *did* refresh, but it still wasn't there. I finally had to use the regular modify feature and do it the old way. Cheers, Vikram.
