What an interesting challenge ! Creating an "algorithm" for what I'd call "distributive social justice" requires you precisely define the logic of "who gets what." Of course, that logic can include introducing randomness. Among the scenarios I'd want the algorithm to deal with: 0) "need" ... if you have a way to evaluate how much the person really needs the items, how "essential" the item is. Age ? Living alone vs, with others ? Income ? Health and access to health-care ? 1) "utility" ... if you have a way to evaluate how much the person can benefit from the items. 2) "greediness vs, modesty" ... does someone who wants everything with maximum intensity deserve more than those with fewer choices ? 3) "collateral benefits:" ... to what extent the items benefit the family, or community, of the receiver. 4) "reciprocity:" ... if you have a way to evaluate how much the person will contribute to your project. And ... more, and more. Given "human nature," whatever principles you define will probably anger some people ... unless you make the allocation "purely" random. «The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled» Plutarch

I have not had any issues. I have the mobile app installed and I get the emails come through fairly promptly (and from a variety of sources too). I'm UK based through, so it could make a difference.

Hi Daniel, I don't have enough "context" here for me to hypothesize there is anglo-chauvinism in the OP's post. I agree with the OP that the quality of writing on many CP articles is often dreadful ... from an "absolute" standard, but, for me, useful technical content is more important than style. cheers, Bill «The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled» Plutarch

It would be a little weird to share someone else's blog feed, then claim the first post that came through as your own. It would be the first time I've seen it. But to be safe, I've left a comment on the original blog post. Thanks, Sean Ewington CodeProject

Otherwise, I have no conspiracy to report. I've seen prices go both up and down, including for items that have been sitting in the cart for weeks.

Firstly, a DataView isn't a table - it is a filtered view of a table and that's quite different in reality. Secondly, it works fine for me: private void TwoDGVs\_Shown(object sender, EventArgs e) { string strConnect = SMDBSupport.SMInstanceStorage.GetInstanceConnectionString(DBName); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(strConnect)) { try { con.Open(); using (SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT \* FROM MyTable", con)) { da.SelectCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue("@SEARCH", "The text to search for"); da.Fill(dt); } } catch (Exception ex) { Debug.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); } } DataView dv = new DataView(dt); Source.DataSource = dv; } private void Filter\_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Source.DataSource is DataView dv) { dv.RowFilter = $"Title LIKE '%{Filter.Text}%'"; DataTable dt = dv.ToTable(); Destination.DataSource = dt; } } I get two DGV's, one looking a all rows, the other filtered. Everyone, including me, should listen better. I second the guys that recommend Logitech. I have been using several on my different machines for years now. The only problem I have had was when I forget to change the batteries. :omg: As far as "Chinese Junk" I thought that was a kind of boat. :-O Look at all the great things China produces and have given the world, Like Covid! I still believe it is a biological warfare tool that escaped the Lab. Hats off to everyone that produce quality products. Cranky old men need to vent sometimes!
