where to download free spash screens?

i'm making a small aplication with visual c++ 6.0, and i inserted a spash screen component. The bmp is very ugly. Do you know where i can get some nice bmps so i can put the name of the app? i'm not looking for fancy flash splash screens, just a picture. thanks

take a photo of something abstract (like a close up of some grass for example) ... cut a small piece out of it (the size u require) and turn it to bluescale for example voila! one splash screen :)

You can also try something like istockphoto.com[^] which do royalty free stock photography, which you can take and play about with. It is reasonably easy to browse through and find what you want (although if you leave your search to generic you'll get thousands of hits on a search)
