I have a seriously weird one. I tend to get a bit delerious when i get sick with a fewer. and i mean really really shortcircuit in my head then so one time when i got really sick while coding on a custom control (not during the actual coding but on the night) i dreamt(half asleep , half awake fewer delerious) that only if i could override my own OnPaint i wouldnt feel so bad because the pukes would never get rendered.. and yes i did laugh at that when i woke up and my head cleared up :P //Roger

Glad to see that my friend is not the only one that has these types of dreams. Maybe all of these people need those treatment centers ;-) Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

The teaching post earlier reminded me of a dream that one of my students shared with me and I wanted to know of anyone else has had dreams like this. This student was probably the best programmer that I had taught. We had just started working on Windows programming and he was getting into the "everything is a window" mindset. He was half asleep one morning and his alarm clock went off. So in his dream he heard the alarm clock and tried to turn it off. But he was frantic because he could not find the HANDLE to the alarm clock so that he could either call the Off function or close the instance. Any other good programming dreams out there? Never really dreamt about programming. But there have been times when I'll go to bed thinking about a problem and I'll wake up with a start in the middle of the night with the solution. It's kinda weird. :-D

I’ve also had an alarm clock programming dream/nightmare. I've never worked with developing embedded programs, so my dream/nightmare is that the alarm is going off (that’s the bug), I haven't a clue how to fix the bug, and a dead line is fast approaching (late for work). I know, it doesn't really make much sense, nor does it make any sense when I’m half asleep. The biggest problem is that this dream/nightmare repro's almost every night, for the past two years. I’ve thought of putting a computer on my night stand, and writing an alarm clock application, just so I could fix this dream/nightmare once and for all.

I don't have programming dreams. However, I sometimes dream I'm inside Unreal Tournament, fighting it out. That really freaks me out. :~ -- Wir müssen leben bis wir sterben.

Naaa, thats for the weak. It doesn't bother me... its just wierd waking up with programming on the mind. The use of "nightmare" was more of a joke than anything.

This is more dementia, than anything I think. When I started getting into web design, I went through a little period where I'd imagine the HTML to layout my living room or desk as a web page. BW The Biggest Loser

Not programing exactly, but I was once doing math homework and couldn't figure out why my work wasn't making sense, even though the answer seemed right. Then on the next problem I caught my left hand pressing down on the paper as if there was a shift key there, while I wrote 9 with my right hand. I'm just glad I caught that before the test.

I have had them, but can't remember them afterwards. The ones I do remember are military related. I was doing house-clearing drills in my sleep (with voice and body movements).:-O My bed-mate did NOT appreciate this, and hit me! (ow! what was that for?):wtf: (twit) I've also done drill movements (attention, stand at ease, etc).:sigh: There is no doubt when the first automobile race occurred. It was when the second automobile was built. - Richard Petty
